Does anyone have experience with the cheap 'leather' sleigh style beds and the memory foam mattresses that come with them from ebay?

Buying a new house and the bedroom is brown and red themed with mahogany furniture. My bed and mattress are getting on so looking for a new bed but quite low on funds with the move and all so their price entices me but what's the quality like?

I can't say from experience but you know the saying "you get what you pay for"? It's usually pretty reliable.

I've just notice3d you're from Lancashire? I can point you to a decent auction house in Manchester where they specialise in beds? Decent makes at rock bottom prices. They have an auction once a fortnight I think but you can go in any time and he'll give you a price. I've bought 3 beds/frames from there over the years and have always been made up with what I've got.

I'm buying the furniture as a package from the home owners. I won't be left with too much money so it kinda forces my hand. I could venture higher really to £300-400 for bed and mattress but was considering a cheap one for just a few years as a stop gap.

Sorry forgot I didn't reply. I am in Lancashire but a fair distance from Manchester. If they delivered it would be an option but otherwise isn't a possibility.

They do deliver but you have to negotiate with the van man and he's reasonable enough. I would honestly recommend a trip. You spend a 3rd of your life in bed so you really want to get the best you can for your money.

Experience or opinion?

Thanks for the link deeky. Can anyone else recommend elsewhere?

Was considering getting a cheapish frame only from ebay then spending more on a decent mattress. The frame doesn't matter too much for comfort wise does it?
