Got the Google Pixel XL a couple of months ago but occasionally my internet becomes unresponsive (DNS Error) and it has a really bad habit of dropping calls. Anyone else that has one been experiencing problems similar to either of these? I really don't want to have to keep restarting my phone for a 80% chance of my internet kicking back in. It's not my signal, it's a fault. Tried all the tricks, clearing cache, different browsers, flicking wifi on and off, 4G off and on... nothing helps.

4G seems to be the culprit, can't say I have noticed problems on WiFi, but that's not to say it doesn't do it. My provider want me to send it for repair and pay full price on my contract for the month they'll have it.

Factory reset? If you send it off it may come back reset anyway. Might be worth a go. obviously backup first.

Not a chance. They'll give me a "loan phone", maybe the current equivilant of a nokia 3210 (and may even want me to leave them a cash deposit!!) while mine is off for repair. Brand new sim and according to EE, diagnostics passed. They can't tell of any problem. I've worked in a mobile phone repair centre before, I know what would happen... intermittent faults can't be tested. I know about "factory reset" but I shoudn't have to go down that route and EE agree. My phone should be fit for the purpose. Trying to call my GP yesterday and the phone refused to connect me.

Just really interested to know if anyone else with this phone has also experienced problems similar to these. The phone will be going back to EE and I'll be withdrawing from my contract. Legally as the handset is over 30 days I'm only obliged to give them one attempt at a repair, which they have had already. Shame really because I do love this phone, when it works!

Go to APN settings (should be under 'mobile networks') and reset them to default. Should fix it.

Done that, even manually entered the settings provided direct from EE. I'll doing the SIM swap this afternoon, already been authorised to withdraw from my contract if this doesn't work.

Will be getting a replacement this afternoon. Hope this fixes it because I love this phone, just can't keep it if it doesn't make calls or connect to the internet, two very basic things a phone should not struggle with.

It sounds to me like it's a network issue more than a phone issue. Even if it is a fault, just exchange it - every device can experience faults, so no way to make yourself immune to it.

i got mine swapped out today by EE as battery was naff after just 7 weeks (fast from 100-15 and then dead). I have a business account but assume same applied to personal. Might be worth asking for a swap out.

Have been authorised for one, they seem to want to send me a refurbished handset though and I won't be having any of that. I've just seen loads of people across the pond are having calls drop on Verizon too. Can't say I've noticed but several of them report for a brief second the SIM card isn't registered as being inserted in the phone. I've swapped out my SIM today and within 30 minutes I was having the same problems so it's not my SIM

I explained that handset was only 7 weeks old and I wanted the replacement in perfect condition. They said that they have to say "refurbished" but that's their term for "opened and returned unused".

To be fair, the replacement was perfect and clearly unused. Couldn't fault it.

Did the new phone resolve the problem? If not then let me know, might have a solution.
