yeah, i'm in the market for a new laptop and these are 99.99389732985732% scammers.

i looked into one of them and they haven't sold anything in about 4 years and before that they were an equestrian goods merchant. seems like someone is hacking into dormant accounts.

I've just had a chat with Amazon - hope they will be able to actually do something - the adviser could see my point. Bit worrying they didn't escalate me to a senior member of staff though - it's really widespread.

I ordered a monitor from one of these cheap sellers and all that happened was they didn't ship goods and didn't get any money from me or amazon.

I think the scam is people who contact them about buying outside of amazon.

In a nutshell.

yes I noticed plenty of non shipping listings for monitors, GPUs and laptops, couldn't understand the scam but if people are following up outside of Amazon that must be the scam. if it's too good to be true, you'd hear about it here first!

Yeah there have been loads of them far more frequent lately

sent off an email to amazon about a specific one i saw, no reply

same on macbooks. if they haven't sold anything and no feedback and want you to contact them it's a con.

I wouldn't have thought it'd be difficult at all for Amazon to set up trigger phrases that flag up sellers for scrutiny. The marketplace will become a pariah if they don't do something about it, not to mention now it's hard to find a marketplace laptop you'd want to buy. I highly doubt I'm the first person to bring it to their attention, although the chat staff seemed oblivious to it until I illustrated it for him with a search of 960m laptops starting at £280 new...

I did report one seller to amazon. They wouldn't give me their address. Amazon deleted them in less than a day.

I recently bought two hard drives off amazon and they were 6 years old, I'm getting suspicious of some of the items being sold on there.

Nearly got caught by a scammer. they have really upped their game, I'll give them that much. They sent an exact replica of an email with the only hints were the hyperlink emails saying @amazon-payments-international, which sounded a bit long for me. also it didn't show up on my account. Reported!!
