May I ask normally how long does it take from you place order to receive it
? Thanks a lot!

I would say otherwise. This company you should avoid. Ive had nothing but trouble. Tried cancelling an order from them. Livechat supposed to be 24 hrs but there will always be 48 plus people in the queue and wen it geta to your turn they say there's no one available. Email, they dont respond. If you read the reviews about this website you'll discover its not just me this is happening to. Please dont let one person sway you on whether to buy from them or not. Dont!!!!!

Used them 4 times, been fine every time always arrives well packaged, free shipping takes a few weeks but it does from any Chinese seller, no other issues.

I bought from them once, from their UK warehouse. Dispatched Monday (ordered on Sunday) delivered on Tuesday.

Yeah GearBest lol thanks

It takes about two weeks on average to receive. If under £100-90 no customs, over that expect to pay a %. I think its around 5-8% of the value.
May I ask what phone your interested in please?

Hi, I just came on here to ask another question re. gearbest. I have ordered a phone from them which amounts to $204 and as it exceeds $200 I was informed during the buying process I might be subject to further checks. Anyway two days later, I have received an email asking for further id, I have pasted the email text here, have any of you had this? Just a tad wary of emailing photos of my driving licence and debit card across to China...

Neither would I. The info they're asking for seems unnecessary as they already have sufficient to process your order and guarantee payment. It may be a legitimate request due to the value of your order but I'd be careful giving out personal details even partially obscured.

Silly over anyone complaining about GearBest, when it is clear- they are overseas re'seller, hence all sorts of deliveries and customs duties arise, but it is nothing to do with "decision to buy from overseas"...
If you want reliable, fast service, with all of the returns policies etc- buy from High Street, if you prepared to undertake risks associated with such purchase- do that, but complaining about it?... it si very much opposite to the expression about "shooting the messenger", not the Seller, buyer and messenger is at fault in 99% of all issues.

Update..so I emailed gearbest customer support and told them to I would not be sending photocopies of my id via email and to deliver my order asap or cancel my order. They replied a day later stating that they will deliver asap and sorry for any inconvenience. So if anyone else receives such an email like I did, just do what I did, refuse to send said Id and threaten to cancel, they will soon understand. Anyway I paid for expedited delivery so am hoping to receive it within the next month.

Ps. I have no idea what atasas is banging on about!
#15
note that any faults mean you have to return at YOUR cost which could cost prove uneconomical for tracked delivery to China.

anyway, discount codes:-

I ordered a very small item few years ago and it came soon after so I thought they were a decent vendor from memory, however based on the last couple weeks experience:
DO NOT order from gearbest, and especially do not send them photocopies of your ID!!
I ordered an android box last week, it came 1 or 2 days later from their EU warehouse, box was DOA.
In their http://www.gearbest.com/about/warranty-and-return.html they dont cover reimbursements from returns in their 45day money back guarantee bit but state nothing about DOA items reimbursement.
They sent it from an EU warehouse, charged on my credit card as "GEARBEST ENGLAND" and are asking for a return ship to China as they know no one would do it as it would cost more than the item itself.

On top of that asked for $5 for a reshipping fee. And all you have to do is look at their TrustPilot to see any time someone gives them a bad review such as this one:

http://i.imgur.com/6DbWw4h.png

They put tons of fake reviews to push it off the top. If you read through their trust pilot and other review sites it seems to be identical patterns of fake reviews to appear trustworthy.

Another example: http://budgetlightforum.com/node/39830

And another site stating similar issues all within the last month:

http://i.imgur.com/40qILh8.png

Zero chance I'd send any kind of ID off to them, and already regret paying by CC instead of paypal so it would have been easier to dispute.
Just take a look at their 'Trust' Pilot to see how much they're gaming the system and then ripping people off with faulty products and as one of the complaints said credit card fraud, which sounds extremely consistent with the $200 order a couple posts up asking for ID verification..

I rarely post reviews online even if something irked me, but their customer support and responses which take days, coupled with the fact the product never worked when it arrived and saying you have to ship to china when it was shipped from England. They know exactly what they're doing and are so brazen about it that it's ridiculous.
banned#17
i have used them more than 20 times in the last year spent about £1500 and only had problems once which was rectified immediately.
obviously very slow post from china you should always expect to wait 6-8 weeks for delivery
if it comes earlier its a bonus.
and if you do have issues the best support is at there thread at freaktab.com.
i would say buy with confidence but use paypal or a credit card for orders over £100 for protection.

the fact that they cant spell thier own company name in the signiture should be enough to cancel the sale lol.

I managed to get my refund effectively straight away. It took gearbest 5 days to return my money via debit card. Personally I wouldn't deal with gearbest for the number of lies they spout. Every email they sent to me re. the update on delivery of said phone looked like a template email, not personalised at all. PS. this is kashc, I can't access that account so I used a new one.
#21
Arsenal_London, could you tell me how you got your refund from them, please! They offered to give me %30 back or else I pay another %50 so they will send a new item. Yes, I agree they are liars. They sent me a track number which doesn't work. They refused to name the delivery company in UK. The problem is time but also money. They told me to go to the post office , which I did. The post office sent me to a delivery centre. The guys, because of my post code, sent me to another delivery centre.. It was a kind of torture.. and finally they took %70 of my money and give me back peanuts

Hi casaa, I raised many a service tickets with them. if I have time, I will try and copy paste them in here. I was never rude with them, always courteous and always refrained from bad language as much as I wanted to go off on one at them. and vice versa they were the sand with me. I claimed my refund on the grounds that they kept delaying delivery of the phone I had ordered. they offered me replacements and the rest of the money back but I insisted on the full refund. I have to be honest when they said they had performed the refund I was still pessimistic but there it was a week or so later.

On some sites it is mentioned that their EU warehouse dispatches can come from several EU countries, not just UK. Depends where there is stock. The EU warehouse is apparently not a warehouse, just some dispatch middlemen companies in some EU countries, who only stock some of their lightweight best sellers, in limited quantities.

Quote from another site where Gearbest replied to some questions but not this one:

"
Q: Marky:

We are still trying to establish whether there is actually a UK based warehouse before placing product requests. Nobody seems to know and no location or address has been provided as requested.

A: DucknDive:

It depends what you consider a warehouse to be. I can tell you there will not be some physical building owned by gearbest with staff in gearbest suits running around tucking your orders with loving care into envelopes then sending them to you. That's not how these Far East sellers do a "warehouse".

What you will get is a contractual arrangement between gearbest and a logistics company who have existing UK physical presence, that the logistics company provide a bonded warehouse which gearbest can ship their stock to on a JIT basis, then the shipper receives the gearbest order details and ships out to the end customer. Companies like Flyt express distribution will provide a service like this with quite low charges based on the size of the order and the weight of the stock being stored.

http://www.flytexpress.com/EnNewsContent.aspx?id=746

This is why UK and EU warehouses of the far eastern sellers only ever sell the most popular and often most lightweight / small products and why Gearbest wants your ideas on what you want to buy, because stocking a warehouse of this type with slow selling bulky products gets expensive.

"

Stay well away from Gearbest. They sent me the wrong phone, then refused a refund, offered me 15% of cost as a credit to their website if I kept the phone.I declined their offer and asked for a full refund to my credit card. This was refused and they only offered to give me a credit on their website to use against future purchases. Also they insisted I return the phone to China at my (considerable) expense before I would get anything.
I opened a dispute with my credit card company who have now refunded me in full so at least I`m not out of pocket.I informed Gearbest the phone is available for collection by a courier or they can send me a pre paid envelope so I can return the phone. They are still insisting that I have to return the phone myself at my expense.I of course have refused, telling them once again the "goods are available for collection".And so the saga rumbles on.
Moral is NEVER EVER BUY ANYTHING FROM GEARBEST.
Also I did purchase from their "EU" warehouse

Their EU dispatch middleman sent the parcel with only postcode on the label! Spent much time and money on the phone to Yodel to get past their system and through to a few people to tell yodel the address and rearrange delivery after much wasted days.

After delays and much hassle, the tablet finally arrived. Screen was shattered. Opened ticket, after more than a day, no reply from Gearbest yet.

I reckon the company storing their EU limited stock knowingly sent a broken tablet but did not put the address on the package hoping it will get lost. Or it got broken as a result of delay and Yodel storage and mishandling due to no address on label except postcode.

whether sent from China or EU middlemen, avoid gearbest at all cost. If you do not believe the posts here, search online for numerous gearbest bad experiences by many people here and other countries. Not worth the hassle.
#31
Gearbest do not have a EU warehouse.

In UK it is a shady company called "One World Express" that does shady imports without paying tax then sends broken items without address hoping they get lost.

Like my case, they send broken items with no address on the label just the postcode, via yodel and cheap couriers, hoping it gets lost and the customer and cheap courier battle it out. Gearbest knows all these dodgy practices very well. they also often send cheaper items as "mistakes" and offer only a few pounds as the only way out, well below price difference. Again sent out for Gearbest by "One World Express" . This is how broken and unsold items are discharged.

Avoid Gearbest and the shady practices of "One World Express" infamous crew.

Further more, the OneWorldExpress.co.uk website is registered to one Atul Bhakta:

It does seem like it's a third party service rather than a 'GearBest' owned and operated warehouse. Perhaps it is worth contacting these people as a third party with any enquires about deliveries and returns.

Yes that is the infamous gang's crew cars, same Hayes address on the label. They take a lot home everyday. Frankly I think they are even dodgier than gearbest. Many people getting wrong items from them and it is always way cheaper. Then Gearbest offers a few quid in voucher compensation apparently. I think One World basically is in cahoots with Gearbest. They send cheaper items not selling, as gearbest pays them for storage per day, apparently by mistake but actually by intent as there are too many complaints online.

If something is shattered or DOA, they send it with no address on the label, just a postcode, where the customer and Yodel fight it out and hopefully gets lost.

I started refund procedures with my bank Card department, forget Paypal in these cases.

Will do a website and more on Gearbest and their gang partners here and abroad. There are many more victims in the USA apparently. Here Royal Mail and Yodel/DHL will be forced to investigate the Gearbest gang in the UK, just too many victims online and probably more silent ones.

Still no reply from the gang, bank's Card Disputes department, said will get a refund next week. Many online reviewers say they never got replies after DOA and broken items were sent to them by Gearbest. Ting Ting Zhou handles the Chinese end of One World Express (OWE) for Gearbest's shady activities and pracrtices. Got many more names of the gang too, too many to mention here.

This is a really bad company. I placed 2 orders and both came with damaged items. I had to chase my orders for weeks, and after involving PayPal, they decided to send out the package.
One thing they were prompt on, was to take my money.
I am $150 worst, and even if I involved PayPal protection claim, I am not sure I will get my money back.

Anyone had any experience getting the money back from them?
#38
nothing but stress from them, wish i didn't use them at all :(
#39
dam
i just orderd a phone from uk wherhouse...they asked for id and credit card photo, i sent them like an idiot :(
now im stressed out

It is basically organised fraud:

* Sending out broken items, not replying or offering a few dollars in vouchers
* Sending much cheaper items, not replying or offering few dollars even despite great price difference

In UK, Atul Bhakta and his gang in "One World Express" are basically carrying this out as their partners.

You have to contact your Bank's Credit Card "Disputes" department.

DO NOT BUY FROM CHINA AS THEY DEMAND BEING SENT THERE AT GREAT COST, THEN DENY RECEIVING IT EVEN IF RECORDED DELIVERY.

We Need a website or blog about them.

We need to get their Directors listing from Hong Kong Company's House.

We need to get them exposed for systematic mail fraud here and in USA and EU.

They are making millions by fraud every year globally.
