Has anyone received a HMRC letter from concentrix

I received one telling me to renew, even though Ive already done this for tax credits. Mine also said that they needed to check as i was claiming as a single person, which I am, but they had information that I may need to claim as part of a couple! They were also asking for 12 months worth of banks statements, card statements, council tax, gas and electric bills, water etc. I did ring them and they said they were generic letters but that i still needed to provide all the paperwork. I ended up having to print almost 120 pages off my internet accounts to get most of the paperwork and then it cost almost a fiver to send it recorded. They told me they were probably sending out thousands of these letters every month! I dont mind sending some info and proof etc but the amount they asked for is ridiculous so theyve also got a complaint letter aswell!

Is it worth replying to or ignoring , btw you sound like a comment i read of netmums or a forum lol

In answer to your question about replying, I would reply to it because it does state they will suspend or stop payments if they dont receive the required information by the date they state in the letter and it looks like they are looking for any reason not to pay so they (concentrix) can get paid on results of any sanctions or overpayments discovered according to the article you put in your link.

Ok thanks the letter just freaks u out wonder if anyone else had the same issue including people living as couple and not singles mothers

My tax credits stopped due to an error on the tax credits on line application I was informed that concentric had sent a letter which I didn't receive it took me 45 mins to get through to them and was told I would get another letter which I didn't receive I sent the relevant documents which I was asked to send it took two weeks and I got a reply from them the only thing I am annoyed at is I received no letters
