Anyone recomend a router to replace Belkin Pre-N (F5D8230uk4)

I've had my router (http://www.belkin.com/IWCatProductPage.process?Product_Id=186900) for a fair number of years now and am looking to replace it. Can anyone recomend a decent uprgade? It would be perfect if it also included a cable modem.

I have had a look around and cant really see anything much better but there must be after all these years. Or maybe I am being greedy for a technical upgrade ;)

Thanks in advance!

IMO I think there is so much choice to give an opinion.

A "cable Modem", I take it you are on Virgin? if so then even Virgin supply separate boxes :(

I am on Virgin, and I use Netgear NG624. They seem quite bomb proof, had this one for about 2 years and it was 2nd user when I got it. It has WPA and all th eothers so security isnt an issue.

At work we use 3Com, and I am not to impressed with it, but it works

Thanks for the info. I will have another look at the Netgear range. Though I don't think there is a big choice - I should have mentioned that my Belkin is Pre N - and so it would have to be a cable modem router with ratified N - and things like gigabit ethernet etc; There really isnt that much. Again I fear I am being gadget greedy :) Thanks again.

The version N is only of any use if you have Version N Wifi Adaptors on your PC's. As regards a Gigabit ethernet, I have an office of 10 people who all sit on a 10/100 Switch running server based applications, and we never suffer from the network slowing us down. To have Gigabit at home would be pointless (in my opinion). Video streaming from what I understand is perfectly happy on a 10/100 switch. I hope you get what you want, but please dont pay over the odds for something you are never likely to use. Note even if you get the fasted broadband available, it only runs at 50Mbit!

One point, if you have been with Virgin for quite a while it is worth asking them to upgrade you to their latest hardware for free when you next renew your contract
