Classic HUKD thread, at least we can all agree it's just another HK website selling fakes :)

Reviving this to see if Dan-Fish ended buying anything from these guys or any other hotukers used them. The 2 other users only are new to the sight.

They have good reviews on trusted so very tempted.
#4
Can't fault them
My phone arrived and I'm pleased with it. Pretty prompt service too
I would advise you to avoid Simply Electronics by the way
#5
Sorry drpink but you just joined to make your first comment. I was looking for reviews from more experienced users of his site. Thanks anyway.
#6
nope. I was very close to getting the edge plus from them as it was cheaper but figured it'd be more sensible to pay the extra to get it from the UK if anything happens to go wrong

funnily enough, it was also the shining reviews and the fact that i couldn't find much on them which just made me slightly more wary.

same as me dan I were very tempted to buy the edge plus from them but like you decided to buy from a uk dealer for a piece of mind, lppy I would recommend that you buy from a uk company
#8
mmm, also tempted by the Edge Plus from them. But the fact that two people above joined to leave positive comments and then not been active again smells bad.

I can't speak for the other person but the reason I haven't been active since my first posting is quite simple. I haven't bought anything... makes sense to me

Not to me, this site is about finding deals, it is not a review site. So did you join to post reviews ?
#11
I joined for deals
And responded to the topic of this thread.

Avoid.
Amazon:

Them:
http://www.reviews.co.uk/company-reviews/store/monocle-company-limited

More reviews than amazon really??????? (and higher rated too)

Fishy fishy fish lips. They obviously have an army of fake accounts.
#13
or an army of satisfied customers?

With an alexa rank of 2,000,000 vs amazon's of 6?

Really?

Talk nonsense. You're a brand advocate for a scam website.
#15
I'm an advocate for a Company which sold me a HTC M9 phone for at least £100 cheaper than I could have bought in the UK. Period
Your replies are dangerous. This conversation is finished. No need to reply

This is almost comedic. The lengths you go to, to try and rip off hardworking people.
#17
any company that has fans who join a forum specifically to comment like this
most probably has a system to manipulate online reviews (fake posts, paying trustpilot etc to challenge 'unfair' reviews)
and cannot be trusted
even if they turned out to be legit, i'd be soured by what's happened here and avoid just to be safe
#18
Can give you a good answer here

i was hesitant on purchasing from these guys so bought on my credit card to make sure i was covered by insurance.
Goods were delivered on time and brand new in the box. They answered all my tech queries within 24hrs too.

Only issue i had really was trying to change the language settings (which tbh i expected!) on my Samsung s watch that was £189.

Id give them 5/5 and will be using them again. Got any queries drop me a mail ill gladly show you the product, emails etc from them.

Has anyone had a genuine good experience with this company. Have just ordered my daughter a phone and now I'm
#23
Well i only found out about HUKD when i was looking for gadget monocle and seen the question 'are they reliable?'

Ive given my appreciation for the company as they were good, as asked by the person who started the thread.

If you haven't dealt with the company why stick your oar in... i have and think they are good so stop trolling and get a grip.
If you want good service and cheap deals then deal with them.

I have no need to lie i don't get money for giving them good reviews i thought id help someone out looking to purchase goods at a good price.

Thanks for your post dailogan79.
I'm sorry that these so called room police have interfered yet again.
If anyone wants my opinion regarding the company I used please feel free to send me a direct message and I will respond with my secure NHS email address and avoid these trolls.
#26
room police priceless

"my secure NHS email address " typical shrill claiming a medical background to imply they are trustworthy

Dude, did you receive your phone? I just ordered a Mac and paid by Paypal. Decided to do extensive research after as I know they are based in Hong Kong. Hoping my mac will arrive and hoping its real lol. Does any one have information?

You sound like a conspiracy theorist lol. Amazon 118 reviews, probably because you don't find many people needing to review Amazon itself, it's like trying to ask someone if an iPhone 6S is a "legit phone" or something..it's just a given.
Checked your link, whilst gadgetmonocle has approx 55 more reviews than Amazon...check out eBuyer http://ebuyer.reviews.co.uk/
^ Are you going to tell me 36 THOUSAND reviews makes eBuyer 'fishy fishy fish lips' too?
I'm not defending gadgetmonocle, I actually came upon this thread when looking for reviews of the place on Google, but your reviews.co.uk link doesn't really prove anything :/
#29
So... anyone who is really really real had any joy with it? Can't fault any of their reviews, often from people on TrustPilot who have reviewed multiple times. Surely bad reviews would pop up SOMEWHERE?
#30
is it possible for a mod to close this thread? These spam posts aren't helping anyone

Hi, saw this post when I was humming and hawing about whether to use Gadget Monocle. I can assure you that I am a real 47 year old Mother of 2. I ordered a Samsung J5 last Friday 15th Jan and today I received my phone.... Which I am typing on now! Communication from firm was ace, emails at every stage and my phone was £135 alot less than competitors and includes postage. I am a very happy customer and would highly recommend Gadget Monocle to anyone.
#32
Thank you for this thread, will not touch this website.

Please....don't order....really danger!
#34
I saw this thread before ordering but decided to go for it and order a Nexus 6P.

Everything was fine. Ordered the phone on 1st Feb, shipping and tracking confirmations on 3rd and 4th, and it arrived (UK) on the morning of the 5th. No customs duty or anything to pay. Saved £50 on the Carphone Warehouse price.

I thought I would put my experiences on this thread as everyone is very sceptical of the other responses.

Bought htc one m9 from here, no problem and using it now to pay this. Have been a hot UK deals member a long time, but not posted before.
#36
I ordered from them to get my girlfriend the Mac air 13". Told her about where I bought it and she had a fit, convinced it was a scam, nothings too good to be true etc. I told her fine, I would keep it when it arrives but saving £160. Thankfully, arrived within 5 days, uk plug etc all looks legit. 1-0 to me although I'm guessing when she see's it she'll want it. Yes, yes, I have created this account today but only to tell you guys my story. Only thing, I used Paypal but dont have a paypal account so used the guest option. Within a day or so, I had an email claiming to be from paypal saying they were closing my account due to dodgy activity and to log in to paypal to sort. I didnt as didnt know if it was a scam, i checked my bank and only the 1 payment to gadget monocle had been taken. Worried me a bit... but so far all good so.. make up your own mind but maybe just use guest paypal as opposed to your normal account.

Hello all. I know I'm a first commenter but I thought I'd share my experience with this site. I ordered a new camera that I'd been saving up for for about 5 months from there a couple of months back. Absolutely bricked it when I did a bit more research into the site and saw this thread. Camera ended up arriving in a week and all was well. Did all the necessary checks to see if it was genuine and it's definitely legit. The only thing to note is that it came minus a warranty and has a Canadian serial number, so I think it's a 'grey market' product. If I had to give anyone advice, I'd say don't bother ordering from this site as it wasn't worth the week of sheer worry waiting for it to come. As it has a foreign serial number and no warranty the manufacturers won't touch it if it needs fixed so I'll need find a third party to fix it. I did end up with a really nice camera for about £300 cheaper than it would be in the UK though so hey ho I guess... Has anyone heard of anything like this before? Some IP checks place the company in different locations in Hong Kong and others in Ottawa, Canada. Any idea what sort of operation it is? It's all very bizarre.
#38
I didn't realize this company was based in hong kong when I ordered, and I honestly wouldn't have done if I had known. However I ordered a oneplus 1 it took a week to arrive, and guess what... It was a oneplus 1. I was more amazed than pleased. It used paypal.me, which also had me worried when i found out that .me is Serbia and Montenegro but then found out its just a peer to peer paypal. It seems totally legit. Its the only item I've ordered from them and I thought they earned the right for me to post here. ( I came here while it was being delivered ) hope this helps.

This was a fun read.a whole flock of virgin posters with their "good times" stories getting longer the more sceptic the audience.

The closest I'll get to this website is snapping my glasses and wearing just one half.
