Hi

Would like people's honest feedback on glasses direct.

Have been for a eye test and have been told I need to get a pair of prescription glasses.

I'm new to needing glasses so to start with to see if I actually need them to get on with doing things. Don't fancy spending £££'s for my first pair and not actually need them to get on with.

Good or bad just want to know if they are good to use. Or anywhere else that people have used that they would recommend to use.

Thanks.

Just recently been in the same position as OP. Ordered my first 2 pairs of glasses through glasses direct. Very happy with them. There are usually some deals to be had too...

Really good get all mine from there there's even £30 off first order too.

they are great quality glasses and sun glass I have had 4 pairs up to now all been great

Used them once, no issues. Possibly consider other online suppliers, HUKD & MSE often have significant discount codes listed from many suppliers. Some online services seem to take an age to deliver. I found Lesway very good on both price, quality and fulfillment, although the keen pricing seems to have gone now that LW has been absorbed by Vision Direct.
Tip: measure your PD to quote in your order. Your PD is unlikely to be included in your prescription, but is easily self-measured or with assistance of a friend.

Thanks for all the replies. How does the trial at home work? I'm on the website on my phone and can't find out how that works out.

they got my prescription completely wrong, they refused to refund and said it was correct... although purchased with the same prescription from tesco and no problems...

Used many times and unlike spec savers they do the free 2nd pair with a different prescription so I get myself a pair and the missus

You pick 4 pairs, they send them out in a box and a return label, easy

Do they send them out with what you need in them or are they just frames?

You haven't stated whether you need distance or near glasses or a pair of varifocals. If it's the latter then I'd really recommend you going to a bricks and mortar store to prevent potential problems with adaptation.

They said it is for when I'm concentrating on things e.g. Tv, driving, focusing on things for a period of time.

Which means it's probably a low "plus" prescription, probably around +1.00 with a bit of astigmatism. As long as you get a well fitting frame and your correct PD's you should be ok.

I've had mine for two years without a problem and I wear them all the time.

the home trial is great, I got to visit friends and family to get opinions on them first, I actually was late sending mine back but called to let them know and they were great about it.

the only thing I miss is the adjustment of the frames, you have to bend them to adjust them which takes time, an optician would do it for you and probably a better job, but mines been OK.

Worth noting that when things do go wrong, the distance selling regulations won't apply (as they are made for you).

I've used them twice, worked for me.
