my TV that i got from dixons has gone wrong again (the fist one broke and was replaced) and they are coming to take it away to be looked at tomorrow.

Last time they took it they didnt even look at it and it hit the 28 day mark where they will send a replacement.

so i am not looking forward to 28 day more of having no tele.

My other Tele is screwed to the wall in the bedroom so cant bring that downstairs.

is there anywhere i can rent a Tv for a month or so from ?

Why not buy one from a big box and take it back before the return policy requirements...

You'll have to pay full price but then you'll get a full refund.

Or ask on freecycle for a tv, you can offer it back on freecycle when you no longer need it. :)

yeah cos retailers just sell stuff you can just use and return without fault for a full refund!

all the time

despite the fact that when its returned and if its not faulty, its now second hand and will have to be sold as such.

why should a store take a profit hit like that?

freecycle is a good idea

How about buying a second hand tv, then selling it when the time arises, you shouldn't lose too much given that you paid a fair price for it.

Like Tesco Direct?

If you change your mind within 28 days, we are happy to refund or exchange the product provided it is returned, as sold, with all the original packaging, tags, labels and accessories. Please have your invoice with you to do this.

Apology?

nope. cos they may see thats its been used and tell you its not 'as sold' and refuse the refund.
GF's flatmate's fella works in the biggest tesco in our region, on customer service and he says people try to do this sorta thing all the time, buy something, use it for just short of a month and return it.

if its been very obviously used and they come back on or just before the 28th day, they'll let the manager decide whether to refund it, depending on whether they deem it to be 'As sold'.

Some stores may just let it pass.
but on things like TVs, I dunno.

Worth a try but you could be stuck with a TV you didnt want if they refuse a refund cos its not 'as sold'
