I am thinking of having artificial grass laid in my garden as my two large dogs have ruined my lawn. I've looked and know that some of it looks and feels quite good but wondered if anyone on here has ever had artificial grass in their garden and, if so, which company they used and what they thought to it.
Thanks in advance for help!

I got some second hand astroturf, (everyone thought i was mad, may be i am??!!) it's not perfect and i wanted to see what it would look like before getting the expensive brand new one. I find it superb, kids love it, no mud in the house even when it wet and it's alway green.

Enjoy your hunt, i can't recommend a company or anyone to install but go for at least 18mm

Everything is useful and this has made my mind up! I'm going to get some. Where did you get the astroturf from?

try www.asgoodasgrass.com

My boss used them to install artificial grass and he says it's brilliant... the kids love it.

I've got to say I thought it was a brilliant idea, so ordered some samples and, the basic one aside, they look pretty good.

Be prepared for incessant static shocks, unless you find a way to earth it properly.

We used http://www.evergreensuk.com 18 months ago for my sons play area its great. I installed grass park junior and its still going strong and lets the kids play on it no matter what the weather has been like. Must say I have never had static shocks so haven't got a clue what the previous reply is all about. The only thing to point out is that it has to be laid when its dry because you have to put kiln dried sand on it during the process. If the sand gets wet it can't be brushed in and sits on top of the grass, the idea is it drops to the bottom then when its gets wet it expands and holds the whole mat in place. I am now thinking of doing the rest of the garden because its so good and the garden is constantly muddy from the rubbish summer we have had.

Hope this helps.

We used As Good As Grass and have loads of problems with static and the kids refused to use the garden becuase of the painful shocks. When we contacted them they said it was not the grass but our garden and the environment! They refused to help us any further, saying they'd never had this problem, or even heard of it before.

Has anyone else had this problem with As Good As Grass? Buyer beware!

We found Evergreens to be far more helpful and professional but we've spent the money now so can't get it re-done. Now we have to douse the grass in fabric conditioner whenever the weather is dry.
