People on this site make assumptions based on other retailers... Asda charge you the price at the point of ordering.

Terms listed below:

3.3 Price

3.3.1 The price of the item(s) You order will be the price on the Site at the time You place Your order or amend Your order. If a new price or promotion is in place after You have placed Your order for example, a multi-buy offer or price reduction which may be advertised on the packaging of goods you have ordered, these prices and promotions will not be applied to Your order.

It will be the price of the items on the day of delivery.
(But from personal experience, don't expect a third of it to arrive!) (_;)

thanks (_;), for spotting this for me,

was unsure if the special offers placed on my ordered today will still be valid when the items are delivered in a week time.

thats why asda are poor for online ordering as they rarely mention the offer end dates. Plus, ime they rarely delivered 90% of what I ordered and they offer ridiculous substitutions.

How is that poor? If there is an offer on at Asda online you can order for 2 weeks from now and still get the price at the time of ordering. Much better ordering in advance at Asda than a shop that can charge anything they want on delivery. Also their substitute is great in comparison to sainsburys. Asda normally give you an item of higher value for the same price as the item you ordered. Sainsburys on the other hand charge you the higher price on substitutes.

who really places an order 2 weeks in advance and wont go back into it to make an amendment within those two weeks? oO

Tesco show the end dates of offers and even point them out if items are in your basket that ends before your delivery date. Same substitution policy as asda

I have used both over the last 10 years and never have I had a full order delivered from asda and the substitutes were ridiculous. Tesco generally deliver my full order every time.

Far easier to spot special offers on tesco too unlike asda. On tesco, its two clicks to reveal every item you have ever purchased before that is currently on offer. You cant do that on asda. I generally bulk buy 90% of my shopping when its on offer.

2 hour delivery window on asda as opposed to 1 hour on tesco.

I do agree that sainsburys are awful though.

Asda DO NOT swap for higher value product at the same price. They take your money without an order being completed even after confirming 10 hours before collection that it has been picked. Recent offer on Mach3 razor and blades, 44 blades with 4 razors swapped for 26 blades and 0 razors because they had no stock. a promotional product swapped out for lesser quantity of a full priced product.

Just because they didn't for you, doesn't mean they DO NOT... as you put it. I'm not saying Asda are great as I've had many issues with delivery drivers turning up when they want, excuses for being early or late to suit them etc. However they are better for orders made if buying a week in advance for shops as you know the prices at the time of ordering. You also know if they haven't got say a 750g mince meat at £4 they will give you 2x 400g £3 each for the £4. Or if they haven't got a multipack of chocolate bars for £1 they will give you that many in single bars (larger bars) at the same price. Yes they may offer a rubbish substitute in which case you can chose to not accept it and they will refund you.
