I'd say the acer is better because it has an Atom N270 processor instead of an older Celeron M processer like the one in the asus. The acer also has a larger 120gb hard disk as opposed to the 80gb one in the asus. Although the Asus does come with Windows XP installed while the Acer has Linpus Linux, you can easily install xp on the acer. It is worth noting however, that I stumbled across 2 versions of the acer aspire 150Ab, one with a 512mb ram, the other with a 1gb ram. I would suggest going for the 1gb ram or upgrading the ram to 1gb if you get the 512mb version. Here are some reviews for you:

The Celeron ULV 353 is the same speed as the Atom N270, and obviously the age of the design makes no difference.

The Asus also has a six cell battery compared to the three cell on the Aspire One, if they're the same price the Asus looks like the obvious choice.

I'd personally go for the 901 as it's smaller and lighter while retaining the same screen and battery, but it doesn't come in a hard drive version so if the storage is important to you then that should be removed from your list.

Thanks, I was thinking about the Asus as to it's near 5 hour battery life.

For some reason my asus eeepc loads things faster then my acer & it has a celeron cpu & my acer has an atom?
I've got to say I think the overall feel is better on my asus, I suppose its down to choice but if I had to get rid of one it would be the acer.

Do you have the SSD version of the Aspire one? The drive on that was supposed to be really slow.

Are you joking, so you're saying a Dual core Pentium D 3.0ghz is faster than a Core 2 Duo E6600 @ 2.4ghz just because the other has a faster clock speed. Get real!

I didn't say anything like that, I'm saying there's nothing that mystically makes things bad just because they're old. Obviously the Atom is probably cheaper and has lower power consumption which is why it's more often used, but performance wise it's neck and neck overall, it's better on some things but worse on others.

I have a 160gb hard drive in my acer.
Unless your doing anything hardcore I think either would be ok I just prefer the eeepc & I'm not keen on the acer.
