Asus X551CA amd SSD

Hi,

I got an offer, 3 months old Asus X551CA http://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B00FC55UX0/ref=pe_385721_37986871_TE_item for £220.

As I'm readimg through all the deals posted here and all the comments, I've learned about SSD :-).

My question now is if it would be possible to put SSD in this laptop. And if yes, what's the easiest way to do it?

I've never played with hardware before, so I would appreciate some help.

Thank you,

Suzana

Cheaper to buy the SSD's off amazon but it will give you an idea of what your notebook will take.

I do have another question as I didn't manage to find the answer on the site (using phone which makes it a bit harder to read).

Do you think it would be possible to jist add SSD disk in where the DVD driver is? I don't really need it.

Thank you again,

I honestly don't know. They call DVD/BLURAY Drives ODD (Optical Disc Drive). I would guess that something like http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/2nd-SATA-HDD-SSD-Hard-Drive-Tray-Caddy-for-Asus-k53e-X53S-Optical-Ultrabay-SLIM-/221168323267?pt=US_Drive_Bay_Caddies&hash=item337ea8cac3 should work. Do a search for slim ODD to HDD. I'm assuming that slim ODDs are all a similar size and the connection type is the same.
