i can recommend any sony, i have 2 in my house. After looking in the shops, you can tell the difference between Sony and the insuperior brands

As I understand it the top brands are:

Sony
Toshiba
Panasonic
Samsung

And they tend to have tiers of quality/features within different price bands

It looks like a real minefield to me, just want to make the best decision!

The are plenty of review sites on the web. Search for "HD TV Review". Remember that the quality of a TV is very subjective, it's determined by much more than the feature list. Of the brands you mention, personally I only rate Sony and Pioneer (que Tosh and Sam. owners to jump on me!).

A read up on the Sonys and get which ever model meets your budget. If you are feeling really flush, take a look at the Pioneer plasma screens. The are absolutely phenomenal.......and so is the cost!!

oh, surely there has to be more, been searching but can't find any info. So basically the prologue has it, which is a demo for now but would suggest that the full version will have it too.

That's sony's first attempt at their own game isnt it? instead of just porting 360 games to work on it..

Didnt that indiana jones type one have it? cant remember the name kinda tomb raidery style game

I only own three games right now to advise on. I am sure there are many more 1080p games out there. Ninja Gaiden Sigma for example. Surely google will know if you ask it?

Most of the software houses are independent (not in house at sony or Microsoft) so you would be wrong to say that most PS3 games are ports of Xbox games, when development is usually run closely in parallel.

Make sure you consider if you REALLY need to go for the more expensive 1080p TV's, that are supposed to be not as good at showing standard definition TV pictures etc

Id recommend the panasonic TH-42PX80, review below

http://www.trustedreviews.com/tvs/review/2008/05/06/Panasonic-Viera-TH-42PX80-42in-Plasma-TV/p1

I have the PX70 and its a great TV, works really well with my PS3 and for both gaming and Blu-Ray, personally couldnt tell a difference between this and the 1080p unless I got REALLY close.

Also note tha the PX70 was voted the best TV for under £1000 in WhatHiFi, hope that helps
