Hi all,
I recently bought this laptop with Vista Home Premium and am now looking to protect it:

Can somebody please advise me on which is the best antivirus to use? Lots of old threads regarding avg, AVIRA and AVAST but have no idea which one to get?

As usual my purchases are in your hands....

Kasperky or NOD32 I think....theres always the free ones to try first and if they do what you want them to do then I guess those would be the best deal! :)
I personally use Avast! antivirus ( ).

You do need to register, but it is a free product and registration lasts around 14 months. Once it expires, just re-register again.
Avast, why pay more:-D
I agree with Avast used it for years with no problems & a great price (FREE)
Avast is awesome.

It's what I personally use, and have used for years.

Have a look here. It should help decide.
I use AVG anti virus from Grisoft. It auto updates, is free and seems to work very well.
Avast always seemed to slow my computer down a bit too much..nod was pretty good..
AVG for me...
AVG free works well ands its free
I go for AVG Free, Ad Aware Aniversary Edition Free, Spybot Free and Sandboxie Also, here's a decent list of decent programs, many of them free: Sandboxie: I've been playing with Sandboxie for a month now, indeed, it's free and for £24 you get a few extra and handy enablements. I like free stuff, but this is one of the only programs I've actually thought was so good I paid for it.
I use AVG, never had a problem.
AVG for us & ad aware (gets rid of the internet rubbish, that comes down when u r surfing the net).
used both for years.
