ebay mate. Pick em up for less than a fiver delivered if it is just to get your board up and running.

I'd like to be able to play the odd game on it. I'm just adding a graphics card and RAM to it on a maximum budget of £50 (currently has 256 RAM but onboard graphics knock that down to 224). Thinking of adding 512 RAM for £25 ish leaving me with the rest for a graphics card.

6200 is your best choice but you will obviously want agp so you will be paying more mate.

Second hand any good?

If so nip over to avforums.com and put a request in there. I reckon for £25 you could get a 9600xt or 9800 pro.

Second hand would be fine, I'll go and check out those forums, thanks.

Basically I just want something that will make a noticeable difference for as little as possible.

Would something as cheap as this make a noticeable difference to my machine?

What is your current onboard chipset mate? I can'[t comment on that one unless I know what you have.

The 7500 was a great card back in it's day. But it is really really old now mate.

Here you go a brand new 6200 for £23 + delivery.

bout the best you will get mate, will run anything but only at low settings. For your needs this would be perfect and for an AGP card it is a good price. (Obviously a 9600xt or 9800pro second hand would be better, but it takes time and effort to find one, this one is available now).

Haven't checked the full specs of this card but if it is a 128bit card then you are laughing. It will match a 9800 vanilla if it is. (128bit is different to 128mb by the way, and with this card 128mb is faster than the 256mb version). ;)

I can't remember what board I have to be honest, and as the computer isn't working at the moment I can't really find out. It's only a 2.4 Celeron with onboard graphics (sharing 256 RAM). It's 3 years old from Tiny, I think it's going to be the most bog-standard one available. I have my eye on a cheap nVidia GeForce MX400 on eBay at the moment (could get it for around £6)...that one on eBuyer looks good though.

Stay away from the MX400 series. CHeap they are but they are pathetic mate. I know it's cheap but spend the extra £18 or so and ge the card I listed.

EDIT:

Right mate this is what you want, your £50 has just been spent and will improve your PC full on:
512mb of Kingston ram:
http://www.ebuyer.com/UK/product/49294/rb/25117000639 at £24 is a bargain.

And the graphics card at £23.86 is great:

This comes to 47.86, now I am sure Ebuyer have free delivery on orders over £49.99 so look around the site for something for £3 (maybe a cable or something) and it will work out a better deal!!! You must choose super saver delivery but it normally arrives in 4 days.

Then enjoy a massive boost for your PC mate.

I was outbid anyway.

I'm thinking about only spending £10 ish now though to be honest, I'm only going to have the computer for 2 months or so. If I find extra cash from somewhere I'll go for that one on eBuyer though.

check out if u have older 4x agp slot or newer 8x slot first tho (different size agp slots)

That 9250 is absolute crap. Also it does not matter if his motherboard is 4x or 8x, any AGP card will work.

It will just adjust the card speed down to 4x if that is all his motherboard supports.

Your best bet is to pop over to avforums.com and go the component sales/trade section and place a wanted add in there, it is a massive forum with replies to posts every second of the day so you will get a good fast response and possible quick deal.

Make sure you tell them what your after (AGP card) and you max price.

If it's just to get it up and running try that option first then if you do not get any decent offers of maybe a radeon 9000 or similar or a geforce 5200, then I would take up danielcraig007 on his offer of £8 for the Radeon 7000, it is not very good but you are pushing things for a tenner delivered mate.
