Best Cameraphone?

I'm looking for a brilliant phone but with a great camera, preferably 5MP or higher. My husband previously had a Sony Ericsson K850i but the touchscreen broke (the same thing happened to a friend of ours) - can anyone recommend a really good phone with a good camera please?

You could have a look at the reviews on cnet here: http://reviews.cnet.co.uk/mobiles/0,139102093,1,00.htm

I think the HTC Hero would get quite a few votes all round and it has a 5MP camera. If you are a fan of the iPhone the 4th gen is rumoured to be launching in summer with a 5 MP camera, but might be no use if you need one sooner than that.

The megapixels on a camera phone matters less than people think.

My k800i was a 3.2mp camera and took beautifully clear pics. I have a nokia 5800 with the same megapixels and it is utterly rubbish compared to the k800i.

it does matter the more the better ,but other things make it better to like the lens, light settings, flash etc

you need a camera with a good quality lens. MegaPIxel is just a number.

High MP with a crap lens will result in a crap picture.

just go into Carphone and start testing phones.

Sony Ericsson Satio is the best around. 12mp and results in a very good image quality.

But what is the rest of the phone functionality like on this model, I have heard it is not the best to use and the apps etc can be problematic, they did say like you though that the camera is fab.

It is symbian, which is pretty dated now. but for a camera phone, you aren't going to get better at the minute.

Hero is a great phone and I am getting one, but the camera is universally thought of as horrid.

There was a sony ericsson w something on here the other day, for a good price with a good camera and a good walkman feature.

Or just use a proper camera and get the hero or an iphone because they are awesome!
