Hi All,

I have £1,000 to spend on a used car, i was wondering if anyone has any recommendations on makes/models that are reliable in that price range.

Preferably be 1.6 or less,4/5 door. Something small/medium as the wife is rubbish at parking.

Thanks

Ford Focus

The Focus was the top selling car in Europe for many years (may still be) so there are LOADS of second hand ones around.

Can't go wrong with a Micra...they just go and go. Very reliable and cheap to run!

OP asked for a reliable car.
A £1000 Ford Focus will be around ten years old with over 100K miles on the clock, check the JD Power survey and they weren't even in the top 50 reliable cars when new.
Perhaps they get better with age like wine?:whistling:

Buy the newest car you can even if it is a less popular brand.

appreciate the advise, but we had a focus... it started to go wrong and was costing us £500 every time. One time the power just instantly died when i was on a roundabout, sudden loss of power steering and no engine not good!

Although i loved driving our focus the wife still considered it to be too big!
