Guys, after the best Chinese Android phone for the old dear..

Must be able to adopt a 4G three sim

key feature... decent camera, the rest just needs to supersede a dying galaxy S4 which I kindly donated many years ago.

Go for the Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 Pro or the Redmi 4 Pro. Search with "Redmi".

Check out the Lenovo ones on Amazon which have English firmware on them and are sold by UK sellers. I've got an A916 and I love it. With Lenovo the build quality is a bit better than the unbranded phones, but the prices are still dirt cheap.

I've bought and waiting for the Xiaomi Mi5, good all rounder imo and was on sale here.. Had the Mi4- liked it, quick look on reviews on Mi5, seems still going in right direction so i got it.
I have the Honor 7 also, that is nice- looked at Honor 8 but it is not in the same price bracket so skipped that.

I remember Oppo did good lenses on phones, think their current flagship is R9S. They are v popular in Asia.

'The old dear' insinuates to me that she isn't the most tech savvy person in the world. Would it not be better to get her something a bit more 'commercial'? Feedback on here of Chinese phones seems to be that for the most part they can represent a good investment for this with time, patience and a willingness to accept a rough ride every now and again but if it were me I'd get something a little 'safer' like the Moto G4 just to ensure as little faffing as possible!

Agree with above for ease of use Moto G4 ,any problems UK support.

I've heard good things about OnePlus and Xiami

Xiaomi, so easy to use, my (nearly) 4 year old has mastered one (and discovered I've taken the SIM out).

She has managed to find the Google Play Store app, and install several games all on her own; thank GOD I dont have a credit card associated with the account!!

Following on with others comments on Xiaomi,

The reason I went for Xiaomi is the Miui OS is really lightweight and similar to the "simple" Iphone OS.
Huawei does something similar but not quite the same, Samsungs touch wiz is just very bloaty and full of rubbish which is never used...

Agreed, this is the Xiaomi one to go for

Ive went for the LeTv Leeco Max 2 , a great price I think , only to do me till the next samsung note comes out later in year . £158.00 ish ,will then sell on Ebay where they are selling for a £100.00 more, so sure to get my money back ..
