If your lucky enough you may find a PGR or Pro Evo xbox live started kit, but they are like rocking horse Poo. If you can get one at Dixons etc theyre dirt cheap maybe £20 max.

You may find one on ebay, ebay also sell the codes but if you go down that route you have to be 100% its a uk code as the us ones are not compatible.

Failing that Play.com £34.99

Thanks. I'll have a look.

Agreed. I hunted around for ages trying to find an xbox live starter pack but in the end just a 12 month subscription from Amazon for £34.98.

I did hear of people asking in Dixons/Currys for the XBL starter packs (theres never any available online!) and getting lucky but its hit and miss.

£32.99 @ Gameplay.com

This looks to be the cheapest atm.

anyone got any new deals, im looking for one.

Above is no good as it's US and also eBay links are not allowed.
#8
Plus that eBay link says they don't email codes, and by the looks of it will charge you $40 p&p
#9
£32.99 is cheapest around unless you get them off forums, some people seel them for £22, £25 or £30
#10
I'm currently looking for one of these. Any hints as to where I can find them for £22?

Thanks :)

I got a starter kit today from Currys in Winchester - the £9.97 one. I've been in there alot recently and it just appeared on the shelf today!
A couple of weeks ago the £19.97 one was available in Curry's Newbury retail park, if anyones local.

gah forgot to look today in currys :(
#13
Sadly there's rarely any decent games deals in my Currys - either the staff have them all or they're too lazy to price them up!

Any other ideas? (my free month is going to run out in a couple of days! eek)

I just managed to pick up some Xbox kits from my local Home Bargains Store,

Kit contained

1 Xbox Controller (Old Xbox), Live Headset and a 3 Month Live subscription Card

All for £1.99

They controller is a sort of orangey yellow and in a plastic bubble pack

Bought 8 and for just over £15 added the cards to my Xbox360 live account which gave it a 2 year boost!!! :-D

Figure the controllers and live headsets will sell at a bootsale for a quid each

so if you have a Homebargains store nearby worth checking out, they get all sorts of different stuff, but first time I have seen these.

:o wow! Might have to pop down!
Never seen anything like that in there!

Which branch did you go to?
#17
That was in Mansfield Notts

Not a bad joypad for the original Xbox, very Orange! chuncky feel to it has Xbox live features built in you just plug the supplied headset into the joypad

Not really got any use for those as my old Xbox has been consigned to Media Centre duties only!

Darn good deal for 3 months XBL tho!

For reference this is what you are looking for (XBOX LIVE CARD IS MISSING FROM THE FRONT OF THE PACK IN PICTURE)

Thanks very much :)

A friend said he'd already been into our HB and they didn't have anything that looked like that, but i'll investigate myself later on! Would be a real moneysaver for me!
#20
now thats a good deal man
are u willing to sell any mate?
#21
where is home bargains is there one in manchester
#22
Nope, nothing in Home Bargains Lancaster :(
Thanks anyway :)
Any other suggestions?
#23
What i did was buy it off of Ebay. If you go on Ebay.com there are usually USA sellers who email you the code. You pay in dollars but its cheaper if you know what i mean. $30 roughly. Works out a lot cheaper

Hope that helps

#25
home bargains? is that quality save?
#26
I think it is, yes.
#27
Bump for clues!

I'm searching for the same thing - tried ebay about 10 times and they always go for too much :(

Will let ya know if anything turns up.

Had a look at the US ebay - the cards seem to be advertised as working if you setup an account with US details, so I'm thinking would it be simple to set another gamertag up as living in the USA and then I can continually buy cheap US cards off ebay ? the first one I came across on the search has them for $45 (about £22 in today's money)
#29
Worked !!!!

Setup a US gamertag (US origina and address) on a PAL machine and punched in a code I bought from the US ebay I got for $45.

If you want to use this merchant you can get Quidco of 3%, although I think it should be 11% as it's not hardware!

OK I concede it's probably better to go with RFC's recommendation and use Google checkout if you prefer it. All that lovely big brothr type information they're collecting on everyone...according to the press that is. Hmmm I could use someone telling me how to run my life, - oh sorry I'm married already...:?
