Look on dracotek.com for a model you like and then look for a seller on amazon for the one you fancy.
Chinese clones but cheap.

Thanks for all the suggestion guys, just looked on Amazon and found this, it seems brilliant for the money (although still quite expensive). Does anyone know what networks this would work on?

All these chinese models work with every network I've tried so far. From the main ones to Lyca, Lebara, GiffGaff etc
The only downfall is no 4G, but it is still fast enough and I can get upto 4mb on speed tests.

The new MT6595 does support 4g in the UK. 4G: FDD-LTE 800/1800/2600MHz.

Moto g 2nd gen is a good choice.
Most phones with a dual sim variant (eg htc one m8) aren't released in this market and are normally imported from China, India or Brazil. With moto g being available from Amazon as a UK model, that's a safe bet. Is only £140 and there's a lot of phone for your money there.

Hopefully dual sim will take off here now. Never understood why it wasn't more popular before, it solves a problem for a lot of people.

As far as I can recall that happened couple of years ago with regular candybar style handsets while there was a expanding market with clear focus onto smartphones but UK network providers were concerned that it would cut into their own profit margins since it allowed UK customers to choose cheaper tariffs with other competing network providers.

These handsets were specially made for UK/EU markets but UK network providers decided to stopped selling these. Funny though, if you look into it closely it didn't stopped handset manufacturers selling to other EU countries.

Just recently bought a Nokia 208 Dual for my old folks who prefer real tactile buttons than touchscreen handsets but great battery standby.

I am hooked on dual-sim phones, even though they only come in handy when I travel, which I don't do very often :P

Anyway, the one I am using is Samsung Galaxy Core (i8262), it's OK, there are much better phones out there, but this one was cheap (>£200) with OK spec.

If I was to buy one now, I think I would give the new ZTE Blade S6 a go. It's pretty new - £170 on Amazon - I think I first saw the deal on HUKD. (Yup, it's here: http://www.hotukdeals.com/deals/zte-blade-s6-qualcomm-octa-core-2gb-ram-hd-16gb-2xsim-lollipop-4g-13mpx-camera-169-2145627 - a very hot deal)

Hope that helps :)
