I'm looking for the best electric toothbrush for under £35. I've had my eye on the Oral-B Pro 2000 Crossaction but the replacement heads are expensive and the brush itself is nearer £40. I don't want a toothbrush which requires batteries, but has a built-in battery which charges on a mains charger.

Any tips appreciated!

Something like https://www.amazon.co.uk/Oral-B-Electric-Rechargeable-Toothbrush-Powered/dp/B00PIRQEBO/ref=sr_1_4_s_it?s=drugstore&ie=UTF8&qid=1483652833&sr=1-4&keywords=oral+b

Is fine, i bought real heads from ebay quite cheap. Oral B toothbrushes are all pretty similar and some expensive ones are mostly gimmicks. Their warranty service is excellent, if the battery gets weak just send it off to them. Ive bought one in the last 4 years and had a few replacements. We pay for the heads so they can afford to replace them.

Hi I bought the 2000 in November from amazon £25, was also this price at asda
Keep an eye on the price on there
As for expensive heads they are regularly on off along with precision type, if you think that is too dear then they are too dear then can`t help

Nearer £40, but we bought one of these recently :

Philips Sonicare EasyClean HX6511/50

Currently £39.97

Having used this and the Oral B, we much prefer the sonic Philips.

You can buy a 20 pack of compatible heads heads for £18.99

Of you decide Oral B, check out the compatible heads for those too.

They all get great reviews on Amazon and will save you a fortune.

Thank you Hasnain. I've been watching that one too. I'm sorely tempted!

Thank you Snoopy. I think I've more of less ruled out the Oral-B 2000 but will have another look at it plus the reviews. It seems to be a good price though.

Thanks for the heads-up, Hottoast. I won't be buying the Philips Sonicare EasyClean HX6511/50 or any toothbrush with a rectangular head. I've tried a couple of them and the vibration makes my mouth tickle, which makes me cringe and sneeze. I hate it. The round toothbrush heads which spin are fine, however, but I very much appreciate your opinion and you taking the time to advise me.

Oral-B have let me down though. I bought an Oral-B Vitality something-or-other just over a year ago and it recently died on me. Even after a full night on charge, the head spins very slowly for about 6-8 seconds before it stops altogether.

May I ask why you'd want an old and useless toothbrush?!

Oral b are the best one and don't bother wasting your time on compatibles, you can get them for less than £2 each so why bother, pay all that money for a electric one and then skimp on the head when most people would pay £2 for a brush anyway.

2 year warranty on oral b toothbrushes. They sent me a replacement within 2 days and I didn't even need to send my old one back.

Oral b 2OO0. wilko was on offer at £30 yesterday when I walked by. B&M had an oral b for about £30 but was a funny modal number. Can't remember which one but was something like 670 or 6700? If your passing these store go look but don't make special trip. Might be just a local deal.

That's funny you should say you want a built in battery one as I've specifically gone for the model that takes AA batteries for three reasons.
They last longer than the built in battery models and it's the cheapest electric toothbrush on the market :)
And if the batteries run out I can swap them over straight away without having to wait for it to charge.

I use Eneloop rechargeable batteries as they are brilliant.
