We've got a Fuji Finepix A310 at the moment I think, and we're after a new camera with:

- Improved screen, the one on the 310 is pretty small and not very clear
- Inbuilt Li-On or similar battery, AA batteries in cameras ftl
- Good point and click functionality since my parents will be using it most
- At least 512MB memory

Any recommendations please chaps?

Currently looking at the Casio EX-Z1050BKDDB and the Samsung L80.

Best bet now I think is Nikon Coolpix S500.

Dixons.co.uk sells it at 159.46 pounds but Nikon is offering 50 pounds cashback for S500 purchased by 30 July 2007. Don't forget to pick up an appropriate newspaper this Friday or Saturday to get the cashback form.

You can Quidco it for few more quids ====> final price would be about 100 pounds.

Egg is also offering 7% cashback for a purchase with Dixons until the end of July.

Awesome thank you guys! Think I'll go with the Casio tbh, despite my mum wanting the silver version which costs £23 more! ;_:

Any idea on the best prices for an SD card (512mb - 2GB is fine depending on value) and case please?

I have just bought a new Kodak C703, for 'entry level' I have really found Kodak cameras I have had in the past really easy to use.

The C703 is a 7mp camera with a 3x zoom, it gives really good quality prints and is a simple point and shoot camera. Dixons, Currys and PC World are all selling at around the £75-£80 mark.
