HI there, was wondering which is the best free security app for an android mobile phone please?

Have seen loads of mixed reviews on various ones plus I know some have limited tools.

I currently have Avast & Eset mobile security apps on my phone. Plus I have disabled the pre-installed Lookout security as read that was not too good.

I used to used CM Security but I see some bad reviews on that so ended up swapping to the above.

Would much appreciate your help. Thanks

Well I if I can't find football streams I would like to watch on Kodi then I will try find streams for football on my phones / tablets internet browser app.
But then there is load of pop-ups / advertising comes up & messages saying you have a virus so get this to clean up etc but is sometimes hard to hit the correct cross out as they are tiny.
So was just wondering if there was anything good out their to stop these and just make sure phone is safe.
Will look at AVG again for sure thanks

As long as you don't have the option for Unknown sources enabled the worse they can do is temporarily lock up the browser.

Just as everyone else has said no need for one when you are sensible and as chocci has said it wouldn't stop the issue that you are looking to resolve either.

Upon saying that all the antivirus apps available for Android are extremely effective reducing the risk of getting a virus by around 30-60% since this is how much extra they will drain your battery and your phone will be switched off for out of power reducing the risk of getting a virus since the battery is dead.
Between Mobdro and Kodi you will find any match.

Thank you for clarifying this for me. Much appreciate as it has been very helpful for sure.
Yes I have been told about Mobdro by some friends to stream on.

Are you using a certain Anti-virus at all? If not would you know the best all round with the inclusive tools out of the following:

Avast
AVG
Eset
F-Secure
Kaspersky

I usually have a check up on av-test.org before I choose any security package for my phone, they regularly test the various security apps. (https://www.av-test.org/en/antivirus/mobile-devices/).

Currently using Sophos Free Antivirus and Security on my android. Has plenty of features over and above virus protection and doesn't seem too resource hungry.

Sophos real-time off. Scan downloads
