The cheapest I seem to have found is Sky at £10/month + £17.40 line rental over 12 months (+ £9.95 P&P) = £318.85 which after £63 TCB works out at £21.32 per month.

BT are normally good with their deals but they don't appear to be offering their reward cards anymore so works out a couple of pounds more expensive than this.

Doesn't Sky have an install charge too?

BT is slightly more expensive per month but has higher TCB. Also has 52mb speeds comparison to Sky with 38.

Thanks. I couldn't see any mention of an install charge on Sky's site, but maybe as I progress through order they will add it at that stage.

Yes, even taken into account the higher TCB with BT, they still work out more expensive. They can't get more than around 30 on their existing FTTC service, so the speeds won't be any different for them.

err BT offer a 55meg or an 80 meg service with FTTC if you reckon you can only get 30 then you must a fair distance from the fibre cabinet

I've just checked their existing connection. According to the BT Wholesale Tests they are actually on an 35.51 down / 10.00 up profile. Yes, they are some way from the cabinet.

You just missed BTs deals, they expired a day or two ago - £100 voucher and around £90 cashback. If your friend can wait some weeks they'll pop back up or another ISP will have good offers.

That is just what I was thinking. The BT one had around £145 cashback and I saw the £100 voucher too, but just missed it. They can wait up to another week or so. Hopefully it will come back otherwise it looks like the Sky deal I mentioned is the cheapest out there.
