I am looking to buy a GPS system this week for around 100 quid. Have seen the following two deals:

Anyone got any opinions as to which of these is better or any alternatives you would recommend?

One main feature im looking to be able to do is download/buy additional maps of other countries around the world (i travel a lot)

Steer clear of Navman, they're not good. I don't have any experience of the other one so couldn't comment.

Garmin are the best value for money (arguably the best full stop), something like the 310 is well worth it if you can stretch to the extra £50.
