I can recommend both the devices you have suggested but are you positive it isn't your broadband connection? Also, if it is live sport you are watching a lot of the free ones will buffer.

Likely access to the "service" is the issue, not the hardware. Suggest you complain to whoever it is you are paying to provide the streams.

I've done speed tests and I get around 46mbps so can't be that. it's not just the buffering I also get it cutting out half way through films I just want to purchase the most powerful reliable box possible
#4
amazon HD or Firestick are.most reliable
#5
I only get about 17mbs and get no buffering with films on either the Firebox or Shield and neither is connected by ethernet either! Firebox should be fine purely for the streaming
#6
If it's addons in kodi that are buffering they are the problem not the device.
Buying a £180 Shield will not improve things.

speaking from experience watching films and TV shows on kodi box is fine but streaming live sports is OK at best. only way to guarantee quality is by paying premium subscription I've tried alternatives.

Agree with all other comments. Nothing wrong with hardware it's the free streaming channels. I moved to a paid service at £42 a year and now get buffer free service on all sky, bt and even 3pm kick offs. Also get boxing ppvs which makes outlay worthwhile.

Must add my paid for service is sport only.

To many people recommend Jodi equals too many people on so now not quite so good.

Intel i5 NUC, although to be fair the i5 is totally overkill for Kodi as is the i3 model but you did ask for the most powerful. How about a 4GB celery chromebox running OpenELEC or KodiBuntu ?

Install Mobdro. Its better than Kodi for live TV. Get a decent build from Ares Wizard, most popular is Pulse CCM. Once installed go into the Tweaks tab of ares wisard, apply the buffering settings there. Make sure to clear cache now and again too. I have both stick and tv box. TV box is quicker with processing the operation of the builds and add ons but makes no difference when streaming content

I have a Nvidia Shield, a Tronsmart Vega and a M8s I have found the best one to be the Nvidia Shield. I cannot fault it, I guess though it is down to individual preference.
Happy New Year!☺

I brought a little Chinese box off eBay called an SM box and it's brilliant. Streams Kodi seamlessly and only cost £11. I would recommend :D

I suspect you are talking about a c line which isn't legal

Aren't the sellers being investigated now for selling the boxes advertised with kodi for sports and movies? Might make it harder to buy them in the near future.

Not necessarily, you can pay for all different types of subs
Best add on for using a firestick is plex.
Then you pay for access to a private server. You will get all sky channels in HD,all 3pm kicks in HD,some 4k.
You will also get access to a vast library of movies etc depends on what the host wants to upload.

Either way, its all not very legit, so i dont see your point in pointing out using CS illegal
#28
legit streaming or "other" streaming ?

I suggest using popcorn for films as it will partly download first or completly download then you watch i prefer to do this as i dont want intteruptions, then use modbro for sports which is fantastic only 1/2 freezes most games

Yep. Plex is best and most smart TVS have it for live sport.

I think we are doing a deal ATM £50 for the whole year. Can't link or anything tho without mods permission which won't happen lol.
#32
I wasn't aware of streams via plex, I use plex for local content.
#33
I've got a nexbox 95 2gb version and my IPTV provider have an android app which I much prefer over kodi, They also use kodi and other formats. All I have to do is log on and I've got access to all sky channels and the foreign sports channels etc vod too. I have got mobdro as a backup. Kodi requires too much messing about imo.
#34
Contemplating on getting a Fire Stick Kodi setup.. thanks for the info in this thread.

i had same problem with firestick. even streaming off my network it would buffer and shut off half way through. i have 4 access points in my house strong signal in every nook n cranny and all other wireless devices are just fine. so sold my firestick i do not recommend them.
replaced it with one of them 2gb quadcore m8 boxes for 20odd which quid also does 4k and h265. thoroughly recommend them.

mine has worked flawlessy tho i have it hardwired
