I am looking at spending around £350 on a laptop, would anyone be able to tell me what the best bang for my buck would be?

So far the HP550 on ebuyer seems to be the best buy so far:

There must be numerous threads on this, but 'the best' laptop depends on what you need it for. Some people may prefer small and light over pure computing power, or good keyboard and screen for documentation over a powerful machine with spongy crappy build quality. However I'd suggest with HP you will get a good balance of many points and Ebuyer are an established and reputable company.
Well worth considering this refurb Sony VAIO VGN-NR21M 15.4in Notebook for £329

Has full 12m warranty so - for your budget, recommended!
Thanks, it's more of a desktop replacement so weight is not really an issue.
Just sent a reply dunno waht happened to it.

Not a bad deal on th HP550 but it was cheaper at £327 only a few days ago. I've noticed that happening on a few deals at ebuyer, the price creeps up again.

I am looking for a good deal roughly around your budget or a bit more so I will let you know if something blinding comes up.

This one isn't bad but a bit above your budget, only negative that bothers me is I read a couple of times that the keyboard feels cheap. It has a Core 2 Duo T6400, 2.0GHz chipset which I like and the memory is good at 4gb. But comes in a £420

Acer Aspire 5735 Laptop, Intel Core 2 Duo T6400, 2.0GHz, 4GB RAM, 250GB HDD, 15.6" WXGA, DVD±RW, GMA 4500MHD, Webcam, Vista Home Premium

Or another one which is in your budget is this. Great looking and well built and designed. Let down by a a cheap processor, Celeron Dual Core T1700 1.83GHz.. Coming in a £364.

Samsung R510 Laptop, Celeron Dual Core T1700 1.83GHz, 2GB RAM, 160GB HDD, 15.4" WXGA, DVD Supermulti, 802.11gb Wifi, GMA X4500, Webcam, HDMI, 3in1 Card Reader, 6 Cell Battery, Silver Palm, Vista Home Premium
