Considering you want to play xbox360, you should get a Full HD tv (1080p).

I would recommend: LG 32LH3000 32-inch Widescreen Full HD 1080p LCD TV with Freeview - Black

(Also you can mod the firmware, or do a IR hack to get it to play most video formats (avi, divx, xvid, .mov, .mp4, .mkv etc and .mp3s and pictures: see, http://lgusb.wikispaces.com/

1080p does not matter, as the difference between that and 1080i would be very unnoticeable on a screen that small unless you were sitting with your face against it or something.
1080i will be fine, and will save you money too.

For gaming it does make a world of difference, in terms of detail, to have 1080p.

No it won't

Higher contrast ratios and refresh rates will make a difference though.
