Does she want a new phone?
Is she a heavy talker or texter mostly and which does she want more of?
Do you want peak minutes as well?
Are you happy with O2?

It sounds like you're on a retention deal which is quite good, I personally would get another via (by threatening with a PAC and mentioning a good 3 deal you saw...) there are a couple of people who work for O2 on these forums...

Hi thanks for your quick response yes she does want a new phone you know what kids are like. She does do a lot of texting but also calls people up.I am happy with 02 at the moment but always up for a better deal if there is one.

O2 retentions in terms of bang for your buck tend to beat any new customer offer out there IMHO.
So if you want more minutes and text I'd recommend one of the mad 3 tariffs and pac out to them, if your're happy with your current tariff and want a new phone stick to what u have and you should get a new phone, and £21/month isn't bad. Call O2 asking to cancel on your last contractual month during the week asking for a pac and mention a better offer and they should counter it on what you have or better.

Agreed. They made a few offers to me when I phoned them to cancel, but I refused them all. I then wrote the letter to cancel my contract, as it has to be 30 days in advance. Then they phoned me again, with greater tools at their disposal. I've accepted a 200 mins 200txts contract for a fiver a month - without the hassle of cashback redemptions...I'm happy enough. (PLUS a new Nokia...!)

Holy crap, £5/month, what phone did you get?

Nokia N73... I'm not sure what it's like, but i have the option to return it. (Haven't received it yet)

That phone is £330 simfree... and you're paying 12x£5 for it and the tariff.
Best deal I've ever seen, if you don't want it sell it imho.make a £200+ profit ;)

I'd like to sell it on eBay but after seeing all the problems lately with nigerian bidders and spoof things, I'm too wary of getting all that hassle. I know I got a good deal though... :)

Sorry to have hijacked your thread abacus, but I would phone o2, threaten to cancel and see what happens.

Hi no problem thanks for the advice :)

indeed threatening to leave seems to get the best deals.

emmajk42, I've no had no problems on ebay, you just need to be very specific that you will not post outside the UK, not accept western union or oversized cheques etc and ideal bidder is a UK person with paypal account that's verified, cumbersome and worthit.

Also u can preappreove bidders on ebay.
