Best places to go in Bristol

Hi - we are going to Bristol next weekend and was wondering if anybody had any ideas where to go - we have a 4 1/2 and 1 year old boy and was thinking of going to either Bristol Zoo or this Noah's ark place - they both seem pricy and want to make sure that they're worth going to before we spend our pennies - or if anybody has any other suggestions we would be grateful!
thanx in advance

If you go to the zoo this might be of use to you.

'Zoo Safari Save 15% off entry to Bristol Zoo and return bus travel Beat the queues at the Zoo! Buy a Zoo Safari ticket on the bus - the all-in-one ticket includes entry to Bristol Zoo Gardens in Clifton and return bus travel in Bristol Zones 1 and 2. You get a 15% discount off both and, as a pre-paid customer, can beat the queues at the members' entrance to the Zoo. Simply buy your ticket from your driver of any First bus in Bristol Zones 1 and 2. Your Zoo Safari ticket covers your journey into the City Centre and on Service 8, 8A, 9 and 9A which drops you right outside the entrance to the Zoo. Catch this service in the City Centre at Debenhams, the Centre, Temple Meads Station or College Green. Zoo Safari tickets are also available on the Brislington and Long Ashton Park and Ride services. Adult £10.60 Child £6.30, OAP £7.40 When you enter the Zoo, staff at the entrance will retain half your ticket. Use the other half for your return bus journey home. Zoo Safari tickets are not valid on the Bristol International Flyer.'

Hi welshgirl, I have a child free entry ticket which I can post to you. Bristol Zoo is quite small but they do have loads of things to do and my nephews/nieces love it so well worth it. They have a great little restaurant/cafe on site too which isn't too expensive.

If you are coming by car, just off the M32 is St Werburghs City Farm which is fab and free,

That's fab - the bus thing sounds great but were staying in a premier inn in Cribbs Causeway so we'll be using the car a lot!
Cheers choc - that would be fab - if u want I could send u a sae - I'm not sure how we would go about exchanging addresses on here - is there a way of sending a private message????
And we definately will check out the farm - there's not much for free today
Thanks again
Heidi

If you're staying in Cribbs then Blaise Castle is worth a visit and only 10 minutes from where you are. Great walks, all free and a park that is aimed at children under 5. climb ton the top to get a great view over the gorge and walk through the woods. All secure and monitored by the grounds team.

Haven't been to Noahs Ark as it's a bit pricey, but its only about half an hour from you if you join the M5 and gey off at the signposts for Bristol Zoo, then drive down past Ashton Court. Have heard it's brilliant though.
