I always use the Post Office, don't charge commission ever.

I just go to the post office,if you go to website you can see the rates at moment

http://www.postoffice.co.uk/portal/po/jump1?catId=19300207&mediaId=19300210

I know the post office I use have them available but a few years back you had to order them the day or 2 before.

Go to Travelex online, I went to Dublin last month and they had the best rate for euros. As long as you give 24hrs notice you can order them online and collect them from the airport you fly from or have them delivered to your home address. We picked ours up from Birmingham airport the next day.

Just get what you need for the first day, as you get a better rate abroad than in UK. Here in Spain at the moment it is 1.32 to the £ compared with 128 in most banks in UK. Hope this helps.

M&S charge no commission and almost always have better rates than the P.O. and the other High Street offers which I find to be pretty poor on most currencies.

Try not to use post office for currency exchange. Although they do not charge you commision there rates are set lower than a lot of others. As mentioned best bet is M&S or buy abroad

[SIZE="3"]The best rate you can get will always be from a euro atm. These are often available in uk citys . Another way is to draw money abroad fro atm's but make sure you use a card like Nationwide flexaccount . Such cards like these have no fee charges.:whistling:SIZE]

I've usually found M&S the bwest but Lately I've found the Cheque Centres the best. Showing as 1.303 for each pound at the mo.

you have to do it two weeks in advance but http://www.crowncurrencyexchange.com/ do the best rates i have seen anywhere

if you're near London, Thomas Global Exchange has the best Euro to GBP rate at 1.32 (as of Sat) but you need to collect from either the Strand or Victoria shop. I normally check on travel supermarket where you can compare the best currency rates. Enjoy your hols! :)

amendment

In fact you can order by post but you have to send payment by bacs or chaps and there is a £5 admin charge to cover postage and insurance. I personally wouldn't be happy to pay this way but have used the over the counter service with no problems.

usually use M&S as their ratea are good and it's pretty convenient.

Hi one of the best is lloyds. Also may I suggest the following: a credit card with no commision for buying thing in foreign money. I personally use nationwide, but also post office mastercard is good (also quidco £20.50 cashback).

Have to agree with Jonathon D above Crown Currency Exchange do the best rate, but you really have to order in advance. I use to use Travelex and pre-order online and then pick up at airport, unfortunately they took the office away at my local airport.....so i switched to crown currency exchange.
If the airport has travelex office, may be good to pre order and pick up at airport, remember to take the card you buy the currency on with you, as that's the only way you will get the pre-order rate.
Otherwise you get the rip you off rate that all airports do.
