I too use Hotels.com but go via quidco for a bit of cashback too. There rates varies through the year though.

See what rate you get from Hotels.com, deduct any cashback and them speak to the hotel direct to get it at that rate or even less. They have to pay commission to all the middle men so should be able to do it.

Join the members club of a few hotels. We use novatel. It's the best of the accor group. If you log into your members account you get 20% off there cheapest rates straight off the bat. If you phone many hotels directly they will beat any of the online offerings. It's all to do with online sales contacts and price fixing. All the hotels are the same so join as many free membership clubs as you can. Always look online though as we have got free local attraction tickets or meals as they can offer that without breaking the price rules.

I would suggest the IHG Loyalty Scheme

I do collect points from various hotels chains but its very hard for me to use the same hotel chain everytime.

Does anyone use the ebookers rewards scheme? any good?

Given the other thread (person being fired due to using QuidCo on company puchases) you might want to check what your company rules allow you to do.
For me, our company encourages us to use Hilton and IHG - I have a reward card with both and we are allowed to take advantage of the corporate Gold status (not that I use either enough now). However, bookings have to be through the company scheme.

Hey Ar650rn, can you point me to that thread? I know many people who collect airmiles and hotel rewards on work trips and never heard of being fired!

Yes I have used them and you always get a good cash back rate which is paid and then they give a bonus of 3% which you can use on you next booking. They are now unfortunately owned by Expedia. But at the moment still give the bonus.

Thanks all for taking the time to respond. I think I will stick with hotels.com for the time being :)

I too use Hotels.com thru Quidco, don't think u can beat them. Now and again use Best Western when they increase the Quidco. There points system isn't that great but u can also use tesco points for stays away which are generally treble the value. Also some Best Westerns allow pets, which was handy when we took our 2 dogs away with us. The 2 hotels we stopped in had designated pet rooms. I will have to look into getting Amex as I currently use my tesco Credit card.

Another plus for Best Western is you can book rooms that u cancel upto 4pm on the same date as your stay.

This one - admittedly it was TCB and the OP never supplied anymore details.
