Best Scrappage Deal / MPV

I need a new car that has got room for 3 baby seats in the back. This means some sort of MPV. I would like to buy new and I have a car eligible for the scrappage discount.

I love the Mazda 5 but with even with their rather large 4k off I still can't afford one. I reckon that I have 10k max to spend; I also have another car I could sell for 2kish so the price could be 12k. I'd rather have a diesel but this is flexible.

Can anyone recommend a good bargain? As ever any ideas very gratefully received...

Hi, on the budget you are chatting I would recommend a Citroen Berlingo Multispace 16.Hdi. I bought the older model new in 2003 to have lots of room for baby stuff and the new model looks alot more stylish although I have not been in one. I bought mine straight as I offered the dealer over £2000 less than the list price and he accepted, it was near the end of the year and maybe he was keen to keep sales figures up, but I think if you are prepared to make a genuine offer and walk away if it is not accepted you will be surprised by the responce. If you go with the scrapage deal you will only get a similar discount. I think prices start around £11,900 for the 1.6 diesel model going right up to around £15,000 but I think you should have no bother dealing for something less than £10,000. Hope this helps and I'm sure others will not agree.

Thanks for the response (thought there would be more). Am currently looking at the Skoda Roomster as the scrappage is pretty good, going to see if I can fit the seats in first.
