I'm wanting to buy a laptop for no more than £500 (preferably less so that I can add an external hard-drive) and the best one I have found seems to be this one from Dell (Inspiron 1501):
PROCESSOR AMD® Turion 64 X2 Mobile Technology TL50
OPERATING SYSTEM Genuine Windows® XP Media Center Edition 2005 (incl Operating System Re-Install CD) - English
SUPPORT SERVICES Collect & Return, 90 Day Service only
LCD 15.4" Wide Screen XGA TFT Display: 1280x800
MEMORY 1024MB 533MHz Dual Channel DDR2 SDRAM (2x512)
HARD DRIVE 60GB (5,400rpm) Hard Drive edit
OPTICAL DRIVE Fixed Internal 8X DVD+/-RW Drive including Software
GRAPHICS CARD ATI Radeon® Xpress 1150 256MB HyperMemory™
CARRY CASES Free Nylon Carry Case

SECURITY SOFTWARE Free - Upgrade to McAfee® Security Centre™ 36-month Protection
MICROSOFT SOFTWARE Microsoft® Works 8.5 - English
Is this about as good as I'm going to get? There is another Inspiron for £50 less which has a Turion processor instead of a dual-core, but it doesn't come with a carry case, which I would definitely need anyway.
I've done a lot of Googling/Ebaying and nothing better seems to turn up, but if anyone could find anything similar (or just without something I wouldn't really miss) for less then I'd prefer that option so that I could get an external hard-drive to attatch.
Edit: Just to add, I don't really use my computer for graphically intense games or anything, although Football Manager will definitely be on it quite a lot.
