A bus likely a national express coach from Gatwick to Heathrow should help. You can also check the trains hatton cross is a near tube station Heathrow and there are several train stations near Heathrow I can help more if you tell me the town you are staying in :)

staying in feltham with family. He says its easier for him to pick up from heathrow as opposed to coming right through to gatwick

If you are staying in feltham, it has its own overground station which would probably be easier from gatwick - gatwick to Clapham junction then Clapham junction to feltham.

if you have luggage you would rather not lug round public transport uber it

Depends how many people are travelling. If it is only you then National Express is probably the best. £20 each way from Heathrow or you could use National Rail as suggested which would be cheaper.

Otherwise if you have luggage or multiple people then taxi or uber. If you never used uber then you can get first journey £15 off see promo codes in UKHD so may work out cheaper.
