We (two adults, one 3 years old kid) are going on 3 days trip to Scotland. Planning to spend 2 days in Edinburgh and one day in Glasgow. Trying to figure out which places to visit and the easiest way to go around. Will appreciate any suggestions. Thanks in advance.

We are staying in st Mary's Street Travelodge. We want to cover castle, zoo and other things that might interest our daughter.

But as a resident I think the best way to see the city is to walk around the old Town as there are soo many hidden treasures of the royal mile and the you can walk up Calton Hill (top of princess street) and see all of the city

take ear plugs noisy as hell if your room is on the road side.

If you are taking a three year old , be aware the zoo is on a very steep hill . Pandas are cute though .

Museum in Chambers Street is free and fantastic. Penguin parade at zoo is also a highlight, tie on the website.

zoo has a tram/tractor thing that can take you to top... trams don't go to zoo so best with a bus. for Glasgow what are you wanting to see 100 bus goes to transport museum good shopping areas between Glasgow and Edinburgh it's worth getting the train in between the two parking in both is rubbish

Edinburgh - dynamic earth is good.
Glasgow - science museum, transport museum, maybe doon the water on the waverly. just a few miles south of Glasgow is whitelees windfarm well with a visit imo.

Would have suggested 2 days for Glasgow. Enjoy your trip. :)

never used the tram when we were in edinburgh - silly prices
was a tram stop close to hotel, cheaper to get a taxi straight from hotel to airport for 2 adults and 2 kid than lug it all over to the tram etc

in Edinburgh, camera Obscura is a great day out, its close to the castle. You can use the tesco days out vouchers for this and go in the morning come out for lunch and go back in. Also the royal yacht britannia which also takes tesco days out vouchers.
