Hi guys,

Just got an xbox 360 and having a little trouble hooking up the wireless.

I have a netgear wireless and it has no probs with the laptops or the wii but the xbox dont want to know and yes I have a wireless adaptor for my xbox (not that daft lol).

Looking for good router or even someone who can point me in direction of how to set up my netgear one as it is encrypted and I do not know how to access the netgear setting page like I used to be able to with my old router that was not encrpted.

Thanks in advance

Have you tried the address and login details listed on the back of the router?
If so then a full reset might be in order to get back in.

There should be a little push in button on the back (you might need a toothpick or pencil to get at it fully). Press this for about 10 seconds, then restart the router and it should revert to the login details listed on the back (defaalt is usually Admin/password)

If you can get into the Router settings then look under the wireless settings and you should have a security option there where you can set the security key to WPA/WPA2/ WEP or disabled.

For testing your xbox try it with all security disabled to see if it can at least connect. If it can't with security disabled then the router might simply be incompatible.

I use a Netgear router and I've got my 360, laptop, Wii and DS all running wireless. If you've got your laptop running wireless then there's no reason why the 360 shouldn't work. You should first make sure that your router picking up your 360. If not you'll need to add it's MAC address into the router.
