[FONT=Arial][SIZE=2]Hi

I have seen various deals for Blueyonder / telewest posted recently, but these are for new customers.

I have been with telewest for about 3 years. I have Phone / TV and Internet.
( 4 meg Unlimited @ £25 per month).

Could anyone give me some advise about getting this cheaper - as new customers
can pay much less for the fist year - Is it a matter phoning and threatening to cancel ?

Any advise would be Great - not too good at complaining....

Many Thanks

How much do you pay in total, swindler?

I,too am with telewest, quite happy with them, pay total of £42.50 for 4mg broadband and supreme tv,so i would be interested in getting a better deal also.

swindler check http://www.samknows.com/broadband/checker2.php

If that says Sky Broadband / Easynet then I suggest you wait.
There are alot of rumours that Sky+ will soon become free with standard Sky tv packages.

Considering you are willing to move to that setup as TW might actually cut you off without caring, call them once that is all confirmed, and say you can get Sky+ 4mixpackage and 24mbit broadband for £21/month and you don't need them, you'll still have 1month of service after cancelling so you can either order Sky, get the Sky + Sky Broadband service or cancel the cancellation without problems

[SIZE=2][SIZE=2]I know I pay £25 4meg Unlimited and then the Phone and middle TV package - in all about £50 . Sounds like waiting a couple of months and hopefully by then be armed with enough ammo to go back to TW and negotiate a better deal. ... Good point about the 1 months notice to cancel the cancellation !!! Cheers

schizoboy,

went to your link to check broadband availability. Now,I am not at all technical, but upon checking LLU xDSL it says it is not available in my area and under this, lists various providers, sky included,as not available.

Is this how sky provides broadband and so therefore this means it is not available to me?

ADSL and SDSL are available does sky use these?

I never watch tv altho it came with the package for 10mb broadband. They seem to get you on phone call charges so i said to cancel tv and phone and they reduced all in and gave free basic tv package,20 quid off monthly bill not bad.I`ve been with them over a year, try your luck folks.

I think any success stories on getting reduced subscriptions with TW
would make a great and very helpful thread - How do you go about it - do you call
the helpdesk or go straight to the cancellations dept ?

ADMIN : would this be a good idea to move to Miscellaneous ?

I cancelled with TW 12 months ago, has the basic TV package which we never used, unlimited phone calls (which has now has a stipulation you get charged after an hour! which is no good for me). I also had broadband and was paying roughly £50+. I have moved to Tiscali, £19.99 PER MONTH unlimited phone calls an upto meg broadband. You can also have a package for £21.99 faster connnection to broadband. Phone rental £10 to BT or Tiscali depending who you have. Never had aproblem with Tiscali they have been great. I have also had a letter to say later this year I may be getting free line rental. Tiscali are also looking into TV as well.
