I bought a Bosch washing machine 1 year and 5 months ago which has become faulty. I claimed under Bosch two years warranty and they sent a repair man out. He said that the drum had been overloaded so the drum belt had been dislodged. He re-align the belt then left.

My tenant said that he did not test the machine but said it will be fine then left. The machine is still not working so I will call Bosch on Monday to find out what is the next procedure.

I suspect they will blame it on the tenants overloading the washing machine. Can overloading the machine cause the drum belt to dislodge and stop the machine working?

Yes as its a sprung drum. Putting too much heavy clothing in and it being soaked will continuously pull on the belt at an angle and eventually it will walk off its guide.

Yes of course.

Hi mutley1, I had this same problem with my old indesit washing machine, the belt kept on slipping off, it was the drum bearings which had worn out, which was a uneconomical repair as it would of cost more than the machine was worth to repair, overloading the machine can put excessive wear on the bearings

It will either be the bearings or the shocks on the drum

As you supplying this for your tenants does that mean its purchased for a business?

White goods that come with properties are quite standard and are not treated as business use as the property is residential. Different if the property was a business.
