i am in the market for a bread maker

not just any old bread maker - but a good/high end one

if anyone knows a good deal at the moment please let me know

my mum used to have a cheap one and the results were quite good - but i imagine the more you spend the better the results

if you spot one on your travels please let me know

As the husband of a woman who is a professional baker, I can tell you that breadmakers are a waste of money. it would be better to spend your money on a book to learn how to make bread properly.
Once you learn the basics of how to make bread by hand, you will find it much easier, quicker!, tastier and cheaper to make bread in a simple oven.
http://www.fabflour.co.uk/Freestyle.asp?PageID=245 is a good start

spot on...making bread by hand beats any results from a machine.
