i took the vivid 100 + phone deal in dec for £31 so it sounds fair to me.obviously you need to be in a virgin enabled street but you know that,i will mention about if you know someone on virgin you could both get £50 if they recommend you-and look for discount codes as I got a £50 one which was honoured and also at the time they where doing a pure jongo speaker offer which after a bit of back and forth they have also honoured

All depends on the competition. If you can find a comparable deal for cheaper, they will match it. They're so f'ing useless though, I agreed 21p/m and they're taking 18p/m instead.

I will have the £36 a year that saves you.

You can normally get the player bundle for £20 a month, a friend was offered that.

Yeah I'm not complaining about the saving but more often than not the mistake is in their favour and it takes about 10 phone calls to rectify it.

Not sure i have a valid argument to get it to £20 no one even offers fibre for £20 in my area after further research. How did they get it for that cheap do you know?

Virgin can do all sorts of deals and prices vary massively depending on you as a customer and which retentions person you speak to.
I'm assuming as you mention weekend calls that you pay line rental on top ? If so then its not a great deal, i changed about 16 months ago to move my phoneline from BT to virgin as this put me on a package with virgin as i already had broadband i then pay for the phoneline with their linerental saver up front, my loyalty deal ended with them about 2 months ago so i phoned to say i wasn't happy with what i was paying and the girl said they had several offers the first being a 12 month contract @ £13.00 / month, that price on my contract is for 18 months (other than their usual twice yearly increases they sneak in before offering a 'free' speedboost within a year) .
My broadband is 70mb and we never use the house phone but having it saves me about £14 / month on the broadband alone so might as well be getting something for the money.

EDIT
if as you say broadband 'only' you mean you'd no longer have a landline off them then i would say that £20 is very good, with loyalty i'd expect you to be paying around £23 for 50mb BB alone.

We are on 150Mb BB only for £23, was paying £28 before the price rises and our contract was going up to £36 at the end of a current deal, called up and couldn't believe it when retention then offered same deal as we were already on for even less.

I couldn't believe it, wasn't on top form that day and the guy said why are you leaving, stupidly I said if it wasn't going up I would have stayed, then he offered even less, and nearly fell off my chair :)

It's not a bad price tbh, but i'd still try and squeeze more - it's not gonna cost them anything extra to bump your internet speed up.

You can try either: I need more bandwidth as my family is always streaming

Or

£20 is too expensive right now, the price of my x, y and z has went up recently and we're having to cut back on costs.

Sometimes my internet is 20mb instead of 50 so might try and get them to upgrade it for same price , will report back!

Went with £20.25 in the end.

Called back and another agent would not go below £33 for 50mb :S so hung up and quoted yesterdays offer
