Need a broadband service that is unlimited i.e. able to download as much as I like. Recently aol have implemented a fair play policy thereby stipulating download limits, so its time to leave aol and find somewhere else.

Virgin do an unlimted service which i just signed up for. But I have also heard that they crack down on heavy usage so that probably rules them out.

I know bulldog do unlimited also but there customer service is really dire when there is a problem. I dont know if they are tough on heavy usage though.

I connect at 18Mb Down & 1.3 Up

I have unlimited downloads 24/7 no restrictions or port throttling.

Welcome to the wonderful world of Be

Upto 24Mb ADSL 2+

All this for only £24 a month.

Freephone number for customer services.

There is no other isp that offers this in the United Kingdom.

I have been with them for around 6 months and am delighted.

Yeh the only one is really NTL. I think they got some great deal right now.

Sky offers Unlimited on the Max package but you have to already be on Sky TV.
And thats all I can think of.

:eek; Sky Broadband is pretty much 'unlimited' as well - i've hit way over 200GB this month and last, no word from them whatsoever.

Stable connection as well! Never had to reboot the router once it settled its self (1 week, like any ADSL/2 connection).

ive just checked sky and they also have a fair usage policy. Anybody know what their limit is?

are there any providers out there that offer totally unlimited broadband?

Be have a fair usage policy in place, in fact i think most people do the only one i know of that doesn't is bulldog and they are utter shite, i just switched from Be unlimited 24 to sky 16MB broadband basically coz its half the price, the main drawback i found with Be is their call center is in india/pakistan or somewhere like that and even though they are quite polite they really don't have a clue and TBH i have trouble understanding what they were saying anyhow but heres a comparison between Be and bulldog, Request for MAC code to move supplier, Be 1 phone call 5 mins later was in my inbox, bulldog 10 phone calls over about a 2 month period before i get it and they still carried on billing me for several months after i cancelled :x

Yeah NTL well Virgin Media in other words. They say 'No download limits (unlike some of our competitors)'.

I'm currently on Sky I was on the free one and I think I downloaded way past the 2GB limit but Sky still didn't do anything. Now I'm on the Mid Package with 40 GB download limit and I think thats enough really.

This is pissing me off I can't surf and download at the same time on AOL. Even worse I think I signed up to renew the 12 month contract but surely if I contracted for unlimited use they cannot go back on this.

I would echo the previous recommendation for Be, although there does seem to be a bit of a difference in service between the north and south, I'm in London and only had 1 minor issue with them in my time using them however for a fair few exchanges in the north there seems to have been a lot of maintenance going on resulting in quite a few planned outages at weekends for a few hours.

Generally though you'd need to be downloading a hell of a lot for usage to become an issue, there was talk of a soft cap of 350 gig, and they don't traffic shape in any way which is a relief after my last provider

If they had a fair usage policy they'll probably claim the enforcement of limits is just a refinement of that rather than a change in terms and conditions, thats whats happened to me at previous providers

I'm after a new provider too - Be seems the best, but problem is i'm only at a 5.5 exchange, so likely get speeds of a max 4.7.

However, its the unlimited downloads i'm after (or at least HIGH level) and Be seem the only ones viable. Unless anyone else have any suggestions? (guess i'm looking at one of those 8mb services - but with high download levels)
