With AOL at the monent but have been unhappy with the customer service. Was thinking of SKY but views on any others would be greatly appreciated.

I know some people like Sky but I had nothing but problems with them. The customer service there was a joke as you could never get anyone that wasn't just reading off a script. Keep getting told to sent a letter for it to go missing. Wouldn't touch them again. Only good thing was they sent me 50 pounds of Marks and Spencers vouchers about 2 months after I cancelled the thing, idiots.

i'd stay clear of Sky, just do a search on google & have a read on some of the reviews, i know a few people
that are with sky & they have nothing but problems & they spend half the time on the phone trying to speak to someone that knows what there talking about. It's gonna cost you money to ring them too, no freephone for sky broadband dept.

Just have a read at the reviews before you jump in, thats what changed my mind on Sky broadband.

Hope this helps

Go to o2 me old carrot. Pays Quidco of £25. I've heard its now £40 cashback. Check before buy. Done the deal. Never spoke to them since. Got the up to 8mb, fisrt few weeks it was flying at 13-14. Then turned it down to a smaller nearly 8. Funnt cause the exchange says i can get up to 6 only.

Avoid everytone else. U don't need to install the software they give, better not too. Get the wires set up and turn it on, windows will do the rest. that is if your box is windows. U can take your missus out with the £40 quidco

Have a look round this site, there are message boards where you can get a feel for how people feel about their ISP.

I have been with Pipex for years, not the cheapest but I haven't had any problems with them in the past.

Im with Sky, have been since November.. £31 a month for Sky minus movies and sports/Free evening and weekend calls/16mbit unlimited broadband.. Not had a single problem since i started, and at that price.. I certainly would recommend them..

I am with bethere on the up to 8 meg and i pay 14 a month for the broadband and the 11 for the line rental. Ive been with *Be for about 4 months its great.

Just a little note incase this helps but BeThere don't cap or limit nothing in terms of speed.

ive also been with aol, and was a nightmare for me once they introduced capped downloading, ive moved to bethere and have been very happy with them and can downlaod to my hearts content with minimum downtime

Tiscali- 15 pounds for line and broadband! Unlimited usage, free weekend calls.Speed-around 5.6MB/s,one year and 7 months with them,no major problems.
O2 and Orange-worst providers
SKY and BT-most expencive.BT - reliable,but slow from 1700(max 1.79MB/s),SKY reliability-39%

bethere broadband is the best mate without a doubt

having spoken to friends many recommend Talk Talk, cheap if you are on a Bt line, the package with broadband free anytime phone calls works out cheaper than being on AOL with a Bt line. And you do not pay line rental to bt, but have to have a bt line, not sure is this is true..Might be worth checking it out.

Thanks to all who have replied...still looking but SKY not so appealing. It's the customer service thing puts me off. I spent over 3 hours on the phone to AOL ( NOT a freephone number) and spoke to 4 different people all telling me different things so got nowhere. Very stressful!

Steer clear of Tiscali! They have got the worse reputation in the broadband sector. O2, Be or Sky are probably your best bet.
