don't worry if they make the same pigs ear of it as mine yesterday you will be left with a high speed broadband (81mb!) but no phone line for calls! but hey....no more PPI phone calls or bogus Microsoft engineers offering to fix my pc,its a win win situation! well done BT...

it is a no. it's not possible, although I think if you're in a virgin cable area you can have Internet without a phone line.

That's kinda exactly what I'm looking for - no landline' no unwanted calls ( aggro ) at reduced price ( obviously ) is that what you did then ?

I had this exact problem when I moved to BT infinity, no phone line but it took me about a week before I realised. Called BT to report it and the engineer went to the box and kindly re-connected the phone but disconnected the fibre. No internet access for the three days that it took to get it sorted and all they kindly gave me back was a refund on the days without the access. Their customer service was/is a joke.
Vodafone don't charge landline rental if taking out a fibre contract. I am waiting for my current BT contract to end next month and intend to move for that saving but I can see their is a £60 installation fee you have to suck up and it's a 18 month contract.
Any feedback from anyone already with them?

Everyone charges like rental some people are just a bit dimmer and don't realise that it's just hidden. Look at the prices between a supplier with line rental and one without. They're basically the same.

actually no! one of my wife's school friends is in a hospice, my wife has exceeded her mobile minutes and she really needed a landline to coordinate hospice visits with school friends ... but i must say in normal circumstances i would prefer this option... but i think the long term future will be wireless high speed via mobile signals and that will be the death knell for sat dishes and overhead lines.....
