OK, ive been on bt bb for 2 years now, am paying 20.99 for 2 mb broadband. At 3 o clock am gonna call BT to cancel my BB to see if they will offer me a lower price. Does anyone know if the operators are still trying to keep there customers, or are they not giving a dam anymore?

Most will usually offer you a reduced price to keep you as a customer, however with all the other BB deals around it's perhaps worth looking to see what you can get elsewhere, or at least have some prices of other ISP's ready to quote to BT.

Tiscali offer 2mb broadband with unlimited usage for just £14.99 per month, and up to 8mb for £17.99 per month,

I recommend Zen. They are on a pricier side, but customer service is well worth paying for. At least that's what they were a couple of months ago when I (stupidly) went for NTL.

Offtopic :) I read this
At 3 o clock am gonna call BT
as you going to csll BT at 3 AM (3 o'clock in the morning) :)

whats the best deal anyone had from BT? I might aim for 9.99-12.99 for my bt 2mb. If they dont negotiate with me and do cancel my internet can i reconnect within a month?

Moving ISP is a pain regarding time length to change over. In an ideal world yes just 1 month. However you will have to keep phoning and nagging them until it happens and until they issue your mac code to moe to another ISP. It could realistically take up to 6 weeks.

i dont want to move ISP, i just want a cheaper price. £20.99 for 2mb is a rip off.

Sorry, I thought you meant if you disconnect with BT can you reconnect elsewhere in a month. I understand now.. Well if you disconnet it will take at least 30 days (or more as mentioned before) to free your line, then you might be able to reconnect to BT BB again if you sign up in a differnt name - partner/wife etc etc, this would then take another 14 days or so.

Just have a look at the current BT BB prices and phone them up and see if they can do you a deal.

Our deal with them expires in February when I intend to pester them for a better price too.

Try these freephone numbers:

....there's no point in paying to find out.

well i rang them this morning but the woman said the contract ends on 16 december so i was kinda screwed. Looks like i'll have to start my negotiating skills on the 17th.
