However out of the two I'd go for a Beko.

bush and beko are the same company.

Bush don't make anything and are owned by Home Retail Group which owns Argos and Homebase. Beko are owned by the Arcelik Group. The Arcelik group may well make Bush branded products under licence.

they are not the same company

Bush is a British consumer electronics brand owned by Home Retail Group, and is one of the most famous names on early British radios. Its sister brand is Alba. Today, all Bush and Alba products are sold exclusively at Argos.

Beko is a Turkish domestic appliance and consumer electronics brand of Arçelik A.Ş.[1] controlled by Koç Holding.
Beko Elektronik A.Ş. (later Grundig Elektronik A.Ş.) was a Turkish consumer electronics manufacturer, owned by Arçelik.

While I totally agree with the point you are making I was under the impression that LG makes the screen for the iPhone? I think Samsung only supply iPad screens. But not totally up-to-date with the insides of Apple kit.

just checked, at the moment and as far as I can tell Sharp, Japan Display and LG Display are making the screens, Samsung supply the main cpu and Sony the camera

Hi purple22, what is your budget for the new machine? I've just spent four days trying to find my new one and just ordered a bosch tonight - Which? best buy recommended one and though I fancied a Samsung Ecobubble or Siemens machine, all roads kept going back to the Bosch. I've taken out a one month £1 Which? trial subscritpiton again to compare machines, so I could look at machines in your budget and let you know. Or you could take out the trial yourself if you like.
