HDMI if you have right connections on tablet and tv.

Most people go wireless though with smart TV or Chromecast and use app on tablet to stream.
HDMI I'm guessing, if the tablet has a HDMI output.
no hdmi output just the charging port and headphone port...i thought I might be able to use micro usb to hdmi?
a hdmi cable you will need to look for a hole in your tablet the similar size of the charger

if in doubt argos sell this and look under there description
Check if you have a marked HDMI, there are 3 sizes std, mini , micro.
If your tablet does not have HDMI there are 2 ways to do this.
You can buy a MHL (Mobile High Definition Link) which is a dongle which goes into the tablet micro usb port. This will then allow you to connect a standard hdmi into the dongle and mirror whatever is on screen.
The other way is to cast the picture via wifi. For this you need a wireless network in the house, your tv must also be wireless DLNA capable and connected to the network. To connect the tablet wirelessly to the tv you use an app like LocalCast. The process is a bit fiddly but there are plenty of videos on youtube showing how to do it. If you already have all the hardware and the app is free, this is a cheap solution.
You might also do this with some settop boxes like Roku and Chromecast Be aware that your tablet is not on the Chromecast list of compatible devices for casting.
I am currently using HDL2/Allcast/Chromecast to achieve this.
thanks very much for the advice much appreciated!
