The digital download will be tied to the account of whoever purchased it online. If you are trying to play the game with a different account it won't work. (If you bought his gamertag with the machine you can use it through that)

If you've got the disk, no problem using any account.

No unfortunately you won't. The games are chained to user accounts if system is wiped the games won't be accessible anymore via a new user.

Why not just get a new 500gig one with forza for 190 thats in the deals today?, I got a new one the other week from the deals here 189 for the 500gig with Minecraft and forza.

Seems silly to me to spend 160 on a second hand one you might not ever use the extra 500gigs and external drives are cheap anyway

As other post sqwid seems a little expensive used better getting a new 500 and later just get an external hardrive for extra space

I'll third that. You can pick up a 2TB drive for around £40 these days and that would give you the brand new out of the box feeling you want and a 12m guarantee as well.

What you are paying is very close to a new one which on a good day sell for less than £200. In terms of buying used, I remember buying a XB360 from Game several years ago on top of which they give a years warranty and you can extend this by paying a very nominal extra. If you buy used make sure someone backs up this sale at least with some warranty.
Unfortunately you won't be able to access the games loaded to his account but if you get a good deal on Xbox live in the region of £25 per year, the free titles on offer every month aren't bad.

1TB model doesnt sell for less than £200 anywhere. 500GB one sure.
