Buying new Laptop, will use for gaming too - £600 to spend, Advice needed

Im looking at buying a new laptop with about £600 to spend.

I will be using it for work, normal browsing (I dont have a PC) and I would like to play games on it as well. I understand there is no really such thing as a gaming laptop, unless your prepared to spend a lot, however Im only looking to really play all the source games (mainly TF2 and CS2), will some others like RA3, Bioshock. So I know it wont be able to run games like crysis etc....

Whilst looking for one, so far imo this is the best one Ive found;

the Acer Aspire 6930G at £587

http://www.argos.co.uk/static/Product/partNumber/5081017/Trail/searchtext%3EACER.htm

Specs;

- Intel Core 2 Duo T6400 processor
- 4GB DDR2 RAM
- 16in full HD Acer CineCrystal widescreen - Resolution 1366 x 768 pixels
- 250GB SATA hard drive
- nVidia GeForce 9600M GT graphics card

I just want ppls opinion on it, is it a good make? For the price, you get a really good gfx card imo. I think even this would be able to run crysis on med settings.

Are then any other ones you would recommend, please feel free to post them

I recently got the Acer 6920G from PC world refurbished for about £450. It's got a very similar spec but has the ATI 512Mb graphics card and the BD rom. Only has 3gb of ram but vista can't recognise 4gb anyway and ram is cheap enough. As for games it easily plays Bioshock, COD 4 and 5, Race Driver Grid etc. etc. Put it this way I haven't had any problems with any of the games I've played so far. Cracking piece of kit.

Don't be put of by refurbished. It still had all the Acer stickers on it so i think it was probably end of line rather than returnn.

Hmmm that sounds interesting, ideally the cheaper the better. Have you got a link at all?
What kind of warranty does it come with?

Or search for ASP6920G on www.pcworld.co.uk

They've dropped the price! (Typical)

Came with standard one year warranty.

Also I highly recommend getting a cooling tray for any gaming laptop. I melted my GPU to the motherboard on my old lpaopt and it had to be sent for repair twice! There's a couple on play at the moment that suit larger laptops.
